Came with the Mrs and the kids, and can honestly say I’ve never had a better cinematic experience. The seats have more than enough leg room and also have space for people to pass so you do not have to stand up. Very friendly service and made us feel very welcome. The cinema is a family run cinema and I can honestly say I won’t be going to any other cinema after going here. The pricing is very fair compared to other cinemas. For a family of 4 I paid £22.60. If this was at Cineworld across the road I’d be paying more than double for the same. I will be recommending this place to all my friends. Very well done guys

A rare gem. A classic example of old school cinema. It may not be the plushiest cinema in the world but passion exudes from every pore of the place and its team.

With live shows as well as special film screenings and very reasonable prices, this cinema deserves your support

First visit was for the double viewing of Alien and Aliens and loved it! Staff even setup an Alien theme upon entry. Cheap prices, comfy seats and great experience

Seats are larger than average and comfortable with a drink holder. 2 screens but films change regularly. Everyone polite and welcoming. Senior showing on Wednesday has a free drink with biscuits and a free raffle. Great value.

Went to see a comedy show Roy chubby brown he was very funny and the venue was good, The security team did a very good job as we did seen someone removed as he was spoiling the show shouting out the did an good job removing him and we enjoyed the gig. The sound was a like low at first but got better as it went on. The seats are comfy and the hall was not too warm. will return.

Parkway is the cheapest cinema in and around Barnsley at £6.50 for an adult ticket (though I'd recommend paying at the desk, as booking online has a 65p fee per ticket)

It has a unique retro feel, with its origins dating back to (I believe) the 1950s. While this theatre is bursting at the seems with nostalgia, the screens are perfectly up to scratch for modern day cinema.

While the screen sizes are smaller than chain cinemas like Cineworld and VUE, the quality is still good. The sound is fantastic and absolutely on par with its competitors - very impressed with that in particular

Seats are comfortable and there's absolutely tons of leg room, as each row is spread far apart. The screen we were sat in had a step between the floor and our chairs, which is smaller in width than my feet. This was a little jarring at first, but being able to fully stretch my legs out whenever I wanted made the trade-off worth it

Food and drink are the typical prices you'd expect from a movie theatre, but the portions were very generous to make up for it. My dad and I shared popcorn and weren't even able to finish it by the time the movie ended. I'm not sure if you can bring outside food and drink like you can elsewhere

The staff were fantastic; the best I've ever had in a cinema. Very friendly, welcoming, and a pleasure to chat to. What makes this cinema great is the embracing sense of community. My dad visited this cinema (when it was an Odeon) in the 70s with his dad, and now he's been able to pass that on to me. Though I've been to cinemas plenty with him before, I've never seen him smile, laugh, and revel in happy memories as much as today

Overall, I'd absolutely recommend Parkway as the prime spot for films in Barnsley. Though it's worth seeing some major releases in IMAX or 4DX elsewhere a few times a year, Parkway is great for family, kids, and frequent moviegoers

This cinema is a pleasure to visit. I love that they are working to preserve the history of theatre and can give us those experiences of how films were intended to be seen when they were originally shown.
We went to see Interstellar in 70mm and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Afterwards we were welcomed into the projection room, where we were shown how the movie was projected using reels of film and the complex systems used to operate these. I would highly recommend anyone to go to this cinema to enjoy these limited experiences.

I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3.
Outstanding film, but what made my night is how friendly and helpful the staff at Parkway are. I could go to cineworld and pay £13 a ticket or pay half that price and get a much nicer service.
