Free entry, but super good service here with cool air inside, water, rest place
Al Jahili Fort, one of the largest forts in the United Arab Emirates, was built in the late 19th century by Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa the First (r. 1855-1909), both as a symbol of power and as a royal summer residence. The original fort consisted of a square fortified enclosure and a distinctive four-storey circular tower.

The fort has been heavily rebuilt over the years with a reconstructed gate. The old fort has been retained within the walls as has been the old watch tower. You are served arabic coffee with date in a majlis like setting in reception area before you start exploring the fort beginning with an excellent exhibition on mud architecture across the globe.

Beautiful historical place. A must visit place in Al Ain. The entrance is free. Parking is available. We were given the taste of local hospitality, with Arabic coffee and dates.

Al jahili fort is one of the attractions in Al ain. Since, it is restored completely, it has lost its rustic feel..As soon as u enter galleries, they serve you with dates n coffee while seeing the restoration video, which is quite long..A technology driven museum with lot of high tech videos .I liked the Mubarak bin London gallery which depicts Wilfred thesiger's story and his relations with uae through pictures, quotes and videos. It has a huge park and mosque near it, which gives beautiful views..Not at all stroller friendly.. didn't allow to take stroller inside gallery..Parking is ample, located on opposite side of road.

Unfortunately I came too late to visit its inside. Nevertheless, the park and the night lights made it a great experience! Will try to come back!

Great place and well restored. Be prepared to be there for at least 1.5hrs if you are interested in the history and a little walk about.

The staff working there are helpful too. It was a good experience, I enjoyed myself.

This place is well-maintained and can easily be toured for an hour including picture-taking. Entrance is free and includes free maps & other leaflets. There's also free parking for visitors.
