This review is long overdue, but Haden Vale GP practice is second to none. From our experience with the team, everyone from the receptionists, to the GP's, nurses and even the cleaners really are the most friendly bunch. Everyone cares and wants to help. We relocated to West Midlands in April last year and had the most atrocious experience with another GP practice so were extremely careful when applying for another practice. However Haden Vale tick all the right boxes so if your thinking about joining, you most certainly will not regret.

Reception staff are a bit hit and miss… but always manage to get an appointment when calling at 8. Find the nurses/doctors really lovely and helpful - especially Sarah! Have family members registered to different doctors around the area and honestly think this is the best locally.

Can I just say a big thank you to all of the doctors and staff at this surgery. I’ve never failed to get an appointment when I’ve needed one (or had a telephone call), with my children getting the most attentive care possible. I’ve heard many bad stories about GP practices but speak as you find, this one is fantastic. I’m so grateful for all that you have done - thank you!

I have had a very strong flu for 3 weeks, fever, body aches, a lot of coughing and I call the Gpi every day and the only solution on the part of the Medical Center is to go to the pharmacy or call 111. I am completely disappointed with the your service because , I was transferred to this medical center more than 4 years ago and until today I have never been able to see a doctor. The decay of our medical services in the UK is visible and shameful...it is regrettable that the world does not know about this

All that people want is a decent frame time for a face to face appointment , every one else is working as normal people are still Ill but not getting to see a doctor

Been with this surgery for many years and have never known it to be as bad as it is now. What once was a very friendly and helpful service has become a bit of a nightmare to deal with. It is increasingly difficult to be able to speak to a GP via phone, let alone get to see them in person. Numerous times I've had to follow up about medication as it hasn't been signed off by a doctor, even though I've dropped my prescription in several days before. My dad who has underlying health issues can no longer get the quality of care from the GPs that he once did and I can imagine this to be the case with numerous others too. I can completely understand that recent events have made it increasingly difficult for those working in the medical field but it does now make you wonder how many health issues are going undiagnosed or untreated because of the strict rules the practice still has in place. But to be honest, even before the pandemic hit, Haden Vale's quality of service had been slowly declining anyway. Recent events have just increased this decline ten fold. Overall it's very disappointing.

It angers me to see some of the negative reviews about this practise. People are forgetting the NHS is a free service and we are so lucky to have them. Those moaning they’re not being given medication are no doubt on pain killers or some form of anti depressant and long term use won’t help them anyway, a doctor only prescribes you what you need. This isn’t just the case for this surgery but it’s everywhere.
If you actually listen to reception staff, you will always get an appointment, need to ring at 8am and you’ll get a same day, if you sleep in til 10 and try and get an appointment, they might not be available. Clearly your issue wasn’t serious enough for you to bother calling at the right time.
Most GPs in this country are overworked, and this is because of the huge amount of patients they have to deal with. This isn’t the fault of the GP practise. I’ve always found this one to be very professional and whenever I’ve needed an appointment I’ve listened to instructions given and never had an issue.
