Best school in Abu Dhabi! We have been there for six years so far and we really hope to many many more to come! Best community you can find in town ????

My old school in SAUDI ARABIA, of all places, was more enjoyable than this garbage example of an education establishment. Some teachers are unfair, some teachers don't even know how to do their job properly. There are very few good teachers in this school. Because of that, my depression increased by x12.

But to be fair, this is the best school in Abu Dhabi, and its campus, while old, still holds up pretty nicely.

My kids have been attending ACS their whole lives and are so happy and fortunate. When we moved here, there were only really four expat schools. I visited every one of them. Based on the way I was treated at one and the things I heard at the other two, ACS was the only school I would have considered sending them to. I have never once regretted that decision. The school is absolutely a community. From KG1 to Grade 12 we are one campus. The older students go in and spend time reading to younger ones in their classrooms (they LOVE that). There are a full range of sports teams to play on from elementary upwards. There is an amazing tech lab with multiple 3D printers and laser printers (there is a class where students learn how to use them). The theater and drama program and productions are very rich and challenging. The IT department is first rate. Service is highly valued and kids from an early age contribute in some way back to their local community. Our Roots n Shoots club has been visited by Jane Goodall several times over the years. The Middle School students visit Greece when studying Greek and Roman history, Sicily when studying science and geology and Thailand villages when switching over to global service projects. In high school it becomes more specialized with smaller trips to places of personal interest to the students, including Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Nepal , Laos, Jordan, Cambodia, etc. My son helped build a bio-gas installation in Nepal and construct a school in Tanzania. My daughter worked at a sea turtle conservation clinic and school for the visually and hearing impaired in Sri Lanka. So many times I've wished I had attended this school! The community events like Fall Festival, Breakfast with Santa, book fairs and MESAC tournaments bring everyone together.

I can understand the frustration expressed by some who struggled to get their child into ACS. My daughter made it in on her second assessment. As with all expat schools, seats are limited and the process of applying begins in February/March. It has to be this way because they need to staff the school for the next year and being overseas, can't just hire someone down the road. They have to allow time for people to literally move overseas after interviews and contract periods. Once you know enrollment, then you can staff the classrooms. When my daughter applied, there were over 150 applicants for 60 seats and that was just the first 2 out of 4 planned assessment dates. Seats for schools are competitive here, across all schools. Once the seats are filled, they are filled. Many students who didn't get a spot right away, transfer over once a seat opens up. It's a warm dynamic school and they settle right in.

The campus and enrollment size is about to dramatically increase. I can't wait to see it though my kids will have graduated by then. ACS was the best decision we made here for our kids and for our family.

Went to school here from 91 to 98. So I can’t say much for these days, but from what I know, you’re doing your kids right. #halloween when they first introduced the haunted house and it was far, far, too scary. Good times...

Worst!!!!! Restration was not helpful!!!!Moved from us last year we late in getting kids enrolled for school so homeschooled for this year. School is an international school and should understand international students and the trials parents have with thier move!! Not at all an easy process....would not recommend!!!!

In all honesty, it's not bad. Some teachers are unfair and the campus isn't the best but for what it is, I don't mind it.
