Great thing to see.
The entrance is hard to find.
In the back corner of the industrial estate.
Easy parking and easy access up a shallow flight of stairs.
Nice gardens too

Now I don't know about you but I love bricks, and I love trains...

So where better to take the kids than the Darlington Brick Train, shaped like a mallard this terracotta monstrosity dominates a layby on the A66.

It first came to our attention as we drove from Darlo to Durham for the gala and decided to make a visit before we left for home the following day.

Our adventure to the cubist Choo Choo began with a drive through a monstrous industrial estate, before we found the parking, the path up to the cinder block monument is a little tired and could do with a tidy up, however once we traversed the broken steps and old dog poos we were greeted by the most oversized and underrated brickwork representation of a locomotive I've ever seen.

Well worth the trip and two nights in Darlington and a definite must for all lovers of bricks and trains

Worth seeing if you like trains. Close to original Darlington/ Stockton Railway. Signage very poor.
Park in Morrison's carpark, close to click and collect.

Not the easiest place to find!! Path in the corner of Morrisons car park or you can park nearer if you can find the official (unsigned) spaces at the back of the industrial park. Seems to have been forgotten by whoever looks after it.

Strange sculpture which is just at the back of an industrial estate. Plenty of parking. But very run down area. Bricks now coming loose and bushes and walkway very overgrown.

Brilliant brick sculpture of the A4 steam locomotive. Workmanships of the Darlington college pupils is great. Hidden behind the hedge along the side of the A66 for a number of years. Now that hedge been cut down can be seen from this road again

Been here before but was in the area so came back for another visit. You must follow the sat navigation for parking, it will take you on to an industrial estate and you will park around the back of a building. There is a sign in the car park saying parking for train sculpture.

Amazing hidden gem. Follow the signs past Morrisons, then it's the first right to go through the industrial estate to the car park. There is a path through to the train from the far corner of the car park. The train itself looks like it's motion thanks to the effect of brick "steam". It's a nice walk and the view from the platform at the top is great too.
