Lots of information on Witney blanket industry, also other aspects of Witney life through the years. At present only £2 entry fee. Well worth it. Staff members very knowledgeable if you have any questions.

Small local museum. Good displays on Witney's blanket industry.

Check opening times online.

A lovely little museum showing local history particularly relating to the blanket making industry. I went when there was an open day which also included demo's of relating crafts eg weaving, spinning, tatting, corn dolly making. Look out for a charming story about a 3 year old son of Early's owner who presented the Queen with a blanket. (I won't spoil the end of that one). Worth a visit.

Really enjoyed the museum. Learnt a lot about the heritage of Witney. The staff were most informative. So glad we could visit as they will be closed from today until April next year. Thank you to all the lovely people who work there!

It's a small museum, but documents the woolen industry of Witney beautifully. Some interesting Roman finds too. A nice 1950s kitchen also. Great video and very friendly and helpful staff. Free as well except for a small donation for an exhibition that was on when we were there.

Fantastic little museum to get an overview of the history of Witney. Had a great exhibition about the Witney wool and blanket industry and we loved the 1950s kitchen. We were greeted by a very warm welcome. Well worth a visit when in Witney.

An interesting local museum... We went upstairs seeing the exhibition for 10min and came down in 6-7 min before the closing time. However, the old lady who ran the museum didn’t remember having visitors inside the museum and left early. We were locked in with all lights switched off. We got out from the emergency exit which unavoidably triggered the alarm.
