Lower path: perfect place with a beautiful scenery and outstanding views for an easy, steady stroll (not good for elderly people or people with limited mobility). It may be very windy, even during warm days so be prepared. Also, if you walk on lower path with kids, be mindful as there are a few places with no fence and quite steep drop if you don't keep on the path.
Car park very small so be mindful and come as early as possible, otherwise you will have to park along the road.

One of the few routes to Kinder Scout. You pass this reservoir, luckily we went during the morning just after sunrise with no wind creating the perfect reflection. Always the earlier the better ????

Great circular route starting in Hayfield, up past 20 trees and the shooting cabin. Head down to the res and basically follow it round. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. It does get muddy and you can also walk to the top of Kinder if you are fit enough and have the right gear.

Beautiful place to walk past. To think this was built before the times of heavy machinery is amazing some great little places close by hidden away like the sheep wash. Also some great waterfalls on the Inflow stream.

A really beautiful walk and if you're doing a route to kinder scout you can go up high and see it from above. It was quite quiet even on a bank holiday Sunday. There's a car park which is about 20 minutes walk away.

Best to take the higher path at this time of year as the lower pathway alongside the stone wall had some heavy muddy areas and the views are much better from the upper pathway.

A fantastic walk around Kinder Reservoir in February on a lovely bright and sunny day. We walked from down by Bowden Bridge car park where there is pay and display parking and public toilets.

The route was generally well maintained and had a range of level walking, climbs and descents. We walked the opposite way to most.

There were two bridges on the walk, but two other streams would have benefitted from plank bridges or similar as they were a large leap across for an adult on a dry day. Not sure if children would have made it across without wellies. Bear this in mind.

Quite muddy in areas, but your walking boots should cope just fine.
