Tried this pub on our drive out , was cold in there might be as we was sat by window , wine glasses on table was dirty , and knife and fork still had food on them told waitress and she said Do you want me to change them ?? We ordered starter which was nice and we had hunters chicken which the one meal was the worst ever the chicken was like rubber we told waitress as you could see on plate it couldn't be eaten she said she will tell chef but they did knock the price of 2 drinks off the bill , don't think we will return again

My family and I chose to have Christmas Day dinner at the Oaken and very glad we did. The pub is beautiful, full of charm and very cosy. The staff were amazing, attentive, friendly and very hard working. The food was exceptional, good quality products that were cooked to perfection. My family and I would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

A party of 12 of us ate here recently. We pre ordered our meals and paid a deposit of £50.

Good food and drink in a cosy setting which, even though the pub seats a lot of diners the layout makes the setting quite private which was nice.

The staff were very attentive.

I hadn't been here for some years due to a bad meal and service but Im happy to say it was a lot better this time and will be visiting again.

There is plenty of parking & free wifi.

Great pub, and lovely veggie food, which isn't easy to find. Aubergine parmigiana with salad and garlic bread. Sausages for two dogs which were fussed over and loved by they lovely staff. We were having a bad day, due to a house move, but coming here restored our faith in good people! Thank you lovely staff x

Haven't been here for a while. This time the food was beautiful. We had the sea bass which was delicious and the chicken pie was a big hit. The steaks cooked perfectly. Decent prices and good drinks options. We're now putting this place back on our local go to restaurants.

Pleasant lunch on a warm Saturday lunchtime. Two of our party ordered the mushroom starter which made for an ample meal. The other two had the salads and enjoyed them.

No dedicated gluten free menu but am attentive waiter and comprehensive ingredient list to draw on when asked.

Great service, we had no booking yet they offered a table for two. Fabulous food, the best pub lunch I've had in a long time not one single complaint about any component of the dishes. One roast chicken with dauphenoise, carrots and tenderstem. One burger dish. A lovely non alcoholic cocktail and a wine. A minuture pud with hot drink. All served with fabulous attention from Chris. Honestly so happy we chose here for our last minute girly mother's day lunch. Also lovely atmosphere inside.
