Baqala that specialises in chinese foodstuff. Pretty small shop with 4 long rows of shelves and some freezers but it packs a lot of ingredients for chinese/asian cooking that you can’t find anywhere else in Abu Dhabi.
The fresh vegetables range has improved over the years. The stock is pretty fresh too.
Frozen food range has also improved. The fishballs and assorted meats for hotpot are more varied than the ones you find in the supermarkets. If you fancy durians they have the Musang King (premium durian) variant in the freezer section.
Most of the items are written in chinese. Go with a google translate app in hand. You won’t find help from the cashier. He either shrugs or gives you a curt troll grunt, unless you speak fluent chinese.

If you're looking for a Hotpot and you want to do it at home Chinese baqala opposite of abu dhabi municipality is a place to be they have a wide variety of frozen seafoods and chinese products.

I love this mini market as they have the good selection of Chinese food. its not only long life grocery options, but also a good variety of fresh tofu, noodles, mushrooms, vegetables, fruits. The only thing that missing is card payment ;) the store accepts only cash. The place is clean and organized and you always get help from available Chinese and Indian staff

there’s 2 kinds of Chinese, the nice ones and the worst one. THIS IS THE WORST ONE! Yes they do have good variety of products but shame for the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. The guy in the cashier is just horrible I mean HORRIBLE doesn’t even look at you and I was trying to have a conversation to ask for a particular product. I don’t know if he’s racist or just plain RUDE. If you don’t want to be humiliated just buying Chinese products that we would actually support then don’t go this store. I suggest the one in Tourist club near kawloon they have many products there and nice people. It all goes down to customer service.

Update: Reading the other comments... the cashier is popular with his rudeness.

This place has a great variety of Chinese foods. I particularly like the tofu here and bok choy. They also have my favourite Lee kum kee hoisin sauce. Wonderful place which reminds me of home. Be aware that they only accept cash, which can be inconvenient and it’s paid parking only.

Very good Chinese grocery store to buy authethic Chinese grocery. I'm giving it a 4 star as most of the items are in Chinese language & it becomes a little bit difficult to pick up items. However there is a very helpful Indian man to guide you around incase u stuck as to what to buy.

Great for finding many Chinese food items and products. They have a variety of Chinese Fruits and Vegetables available as well.
Very interesting place to drop by and try out new things.
