9.60 for a taxi from little wellies day nursery to tofthill school. Even if you book over the phone you are paying the price of the metre. On the phone it was confirmed as 5.60 but they charge the extra 4.00 as soon as the meter is put on and you get in the car. Never again

Yesterday I booked a taxi with Cables taxi from Bishop Auckland. They refused to take my booking without a £20 deposit which I had to make a special trip to pay in person as they could not take this over the phone.

Over half an hour after I was supposed to be picked up I called the taxi firm who said the office was closed and I would have to call back in the morning. This was no help to me and my stranded friends. When I tried to call back they had changed the phone to take no incoming calls.

I am completely dismayed that after paying a deposit this taxi firm left me and a group of friends with no way home. We had to rely on other people to get home. Do not use this company!!
