First time using the app today and I have to say a brilliant service. The taxi turned up on time, the car was immaculate and the driver very polite and helpful. The fare was also very reasonable. I will certainly be using 1AB again.

Utterly appalled at the terrible service from this company. We booked a taxi two weeks in advance (under Joe Walsh) for 12:10 from a rural wedding venue . At 12:10 there was no sign of the taxi. We phoned at this time and was told the taxi was 10-15 minutes away. We proceeded to wait for over 35 minutes in the pouring rain for this taxi to arrive - and the driver could not have been less apologetic. After a wonderful day at a friends wedding our night was ruined by being soaked whilst waiting for a taxi which had been booked far in advance. The driver reportedly had only been given the job at 12:25am which is abysmal for a taxi arranged for a special occasion in advance such as this. Totally disappointed and shocked at such a shameful taxi company. Avoid at all costs.

Unfortunately a company that used to be fantastic seams to have gone to the wall. Never turn up on time, and we nearly missed our train as they were so late, despite booking the taxi for 45 minutes before our train left. Only saving grace was the train was running late too.
Last time we booked we cancelled it after being 25 minutes late, and still not even a driver assigned.
Seams the problems started since the introduction of the app.

Waited for 15 minutes with a work colleague for prebooked Taxi at Darlington station. Called the company to be told the driver waited for 9 minutes and we were a 'no show' so left. We arrived at the station on time and were waiting at the taxi rank with cases and could see no AB1 taxi or anyone/taxi driver looking for a prearranged pickup. A taxi did arrive within 10 minutes of the chase up phone call.
Of note, the taxi company has changed name and logo to 'take me' and AB1 is within the new logo but in very small print.
I don't understand why the first driver didn't get out of his car and look for us perhaps with a name board like another driver was doing.

Arrived on time, a pleasant helpful gentleman drove me from Middleton one Row to Great Broughton to retrieve my vehicle. An agreeable journey unused. Felt as if we were there in no time at all, with plenty to chat about!

Appaling company since taken over, no customer service whatsoever, pre booked taxis turn up 30 mins late and try getting one from teesside airport. Abysmal service I don't know how they will survive as a business, they don't deserve any stars

Failed to turn up on time for an early morning pick up of around 4:45am to Teeside airport, this was pre-booked the day before, call handlers were not helpful only said driver would be 15 minutes late, driver turned up 15 minutes late and was an anxious trip to the airport although driver tried his best to speed up on the way. I have used station taxis a few times to the airport early morning with no issues. Would never use 1AB again especially for an airport run early in the morning

Absolutely terrible, I booked a taxi from Durham to Teesside airport, got a confirmation and called to make sure the taxi was confirmed for an 8 am pick up the following day. The taxi was cancelled at 7:50 the morning of the pick up, so 10 minutes before the confirmed time. Customer service said that this is because for out of area pickups they require pre-payment, however we were never informed about this when booking, nor were we ever prompted to pre-pay. They simply canceled, which of course is very stressful if you have a flight to catch.
