Nice place, didn't find any fossils, but saw the fossilised tree trunk, parking mainly on street.

nice place to take a bag of chips and just look out for boats, birds, scenery - always nice when the sun shines too added bonus.

Plenty of cross-beded sandstone in the cliffs as well. But make sure the tide isn't in if you want to see the fossil tree stumps.

Not far from Crail Harbour and a pretty straight forward scramble when the tide is out.

How amazing to see a huge fossilised tree stump on Crail beach, the size was most unexpected. Initially looking, to the untrained eye, like a rock it soon became evident that I was looking at a tree stump and then looking around a couple of other partial stumps appeared too.

Like many people, I suspect, I learned about the fossils on this beach through David Attenborough's TV show. Relatively easy to identify the fossils and a charming town to visit. Well worth taking a little longer to explore the area.
