This tour was great, we only had time to do one cavern, and there is 4 pretty much next to eachother here, but we're so glad we chose this one.
It's a super unique experience taking a boat through the cave, and the natural cave at the end was also really cool. The mix of man made mine and natural also was a nice mix.
The tour guide was fantastic, I unfortunately can't remember his name, I'm sure he gave the classic anecdote of "if you liked this tour my name is... and if you didn't it's...". He made us laugh and taught us a lot, super friendly guy who made the experience even better.
Definitely worth a visit for anyone planning to visit the area.
My pictures and others online don't do this place justice, just trust and visit, it's worth it.

It’s nature's masterpiece! The towering limestone cliffs, winding road, and panoramic views make it a breathtaking experience. Hiking or driving through this scenic route is an absolute thrill. The geological wonders and rugged beauty of the Peak District are truly awe-inspiring. A must-visit destination for adventurers and nature enthusiasts!

It was a great experience and the tour guide was both informative and entertaining. The views of the cavern at the end of the tunnel were also breath taking.

Top tip, it's very chilly down there. If you feel the cold maybe bring a jumper

Visited here after Mam tor. Fortunately managed to get a ticket available on the door for an afternoon trip. I also bought a parking ticket from the shop alternatively, you can use the machine across the road from the entrance. The parking fee was £3.50 on my visit and around £20 for the tour.
The tour is guided and primarily by boat. Once you find a suitable hard hat, access to the boat is via a set of steep slippery steps.
The tour lasts approximately an hour and follows a tunnel to the site of an underground waterfall.
The guides are very friendly and provide lots of fun facts. The tunnels are very compact in places and the hardhats come in very handy. Something to consider if you are planning a visit. Fairly novel way to view an old lead mine.

What a fantastic mini adventure underground. Fascinating history of the cavern, how it was created, what was mined, working conditions & how much they got paid. 106 steps down a low tunnel to the boat. Then a lovely cool (9c) boat trip along another low tunnel with a fantastic knowledgable guide (Bernese) steering the boat as she gave the history of the cavern.
Hard hats are too be worn & a light fleece or jumper to keep the chill off.

Absolutely loved the experience! Our tour guide was really good and kept us very engrossed with the narrative and given the dank dark atmosphere, his sense of humour definitely helped!
The cave is marvelous! The boat ride is an experience and I absolutely recommend it!

Had a nice experience. 5 year old wasn't too pleased with it all, not sure what she was expecting. It was quite informative, nice little ride on the boat. Was a little pricey and I think having young kids pay alis a bit much. One real oddity was the toilet situation. My daughter was dying for a wee after over an hour drive. Went to the kiosk over the road and the woman told me the closest toilet was in the village. I persevered and went next door to the gift shop and they have me a token as I had already bought tickets but I'm confused as to why they weren't just open for everyone? Very strange

Fabulous morning out. Went for the 1050-11.15 Cavern trip, Things to note in advance:

*pay and display car park
*wear shoes with a good grip as the steps down and up to the boat are step and slippery, and you might want to walk around the area too.
*book in advance in school holidays.
* your timeslot is to give you time to take in the view and be at the entrance well on time.
*gift shop is lovely and has great tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
*toilets opposite are less lovely, but I've seen worse - practise your squatting in advance!

We had a very funny guide, Alistair (sorry if I got your name wrong, I was trying to not call you Josh ????) who was both informative and humourous.

The cavern and boat trip were great and we learnt a lot about the history and the local area.

Highly recommended for all ages.
