It’s cool to see the fossilised dunes up close. These fossil dunes are naturally formed structures with wind, sand, and time. It's worth taking a decent camera and visiting this place. We went in after noon so faced too hot and tired. There's not much to do. 2 main issues are the distance far away from the city and the empty surroundings with no any kind of shop around. If you go make sure you have petrol, water and food needed. There are toilets there and the parking is free. There is no entrance fee, so you can visit and enjoy that area. I would suggest visiting the evening or night. At night, dunes are more attractive with lights. Dunes near areas are in protective space and no entry. Also, they made a path way for all accessible areas.

A must -visit attraction, at least for residents and at least once.
The site contains an organized set of trails (more than 1 km long in total) which you can walk along and have a close look at the fossil dunes.
Then you can have a cup of coffee or snack at the small on-site food trucks if after 4pm when they open.
If you visit in daylight, you get the chance to view the entire site to a long distance 360° around and is preferable to be in winter.
If your visit in the evening, you get the chance to the dunes illuminated, a unique spectacle.
No 4WD car needed.
No entrance fee.

A good tourist attraction well maintained by environment agency. Good place for photography and eco tourism destination.
Try to reach before sunset. So that you can get amazing views of fossil dunes. Entry is free.
Evening lighting is very nice here.
Wash room facility and cafe available.
We went in sunday. In the map it was showing closes at 4 pm, But it was open.

Very interesting, but you cannot get up close to the dunes any more, as they have been fenced off to protect them, which is a shame. Mind you people cannot dump rubbish there any more, which is great.

Astonishing place to see. You’ve also the possibility to enjoy the landscape while drinking a tea or coffee.

The time to visit is from Monday to Friday from 9am until 9pm and Saturday & Sunday from 9am until 11pm. I asked the representative at the dunes. The time on goggle maps is wrong. I updated it but I dunno how long it takes to accept the change.

Protected natural environment as of now. Located in AL Wathba desert these natural phenomenon must be seen. There no ticket, at the entrance you will be asked to register and you are allowed to park your vehicle right up to the entrance of largest fossil dune. Walking path is all marked. Take as many pictires. The whole area is now protected and watched over. There are some beverage trucks in a center ,in case you are thirsty. Night time visit to these dunes are even more dramatic , with lights on them. Last entry to visitors closes at 9 pm. Park remains open till 11 pm.

Great tourist attraction in uae, can be one of the top sightseeing places to visit in Abu Dhabi for free.

It is a hidden archaeological site in Abudhabi. Quite interesting to visit and see the geological formation of fossil dunes.
Roads are good up to the site. You may have to enter and go around the site by walk only, as it is a protected site. No entry fee. Ample car parking available. No crowd. There is no food or water available nearby. So better pack with you and go.
