This year, I have been treated at The Spire Cardiff for severe varicose veins in both legs. From my first appointment last September, to my most recent procedure in April, my surgeon ( Mr Mike Lewis) has been incredible. His clear approach, technical expertise and compassion have remained constant throughout my entire experience at Glamorgan House so far. During my first operation, Mr Lewis was careful to explain everything in steps and I had every confidence the procedure would go well ( it did!). The whole team at Spire Cardiff have also been unfailingly supportive; often going above and beyond the call of duty to assist at every point of my treatment journey. For overnight stay requirements, the rooms are spotlessly clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone requiring private health care.

I phoned today and explained I needed local knowledge of travelling to and from the Spire as I'm juggling appointments for my own health concerns and attending visiting hours for a family member in my local ICU.
The attitude on the phone, having explained my situation to them, was disgusting. I was made to feel a nuisance and was told in a cold manner that they can't predict the traffic and it's up to me what's more important.
I think the reception staff would be better off moving to the debt collecting team and kept away from people who need help.

I had an appointment for an injection to relieve the back pain,month ago. but since that day I am not feeling well. The pain has doubled and I am unable to bend my back or sleep comfortably. There is a medical error in giving me the injection! I paid nearly £500 to relieve the pain, not to increase it

I want to take the necessary measures when they made a mistake to me, I lost money and also my health !

Recently had my hernia surgery here and the whole experience from start to finish was perfect. Super attentive staff and very professional from receptionist to the surgeon. Thanks again.

I’m not sure where to start , Had a discectomy with Professor Auhja who cut through my dura surrounding my spinal cord accidentally. I then suffered a CSf leak which has caused me severe headaches over Christmas and eye pain . Went to A&E at university of wales Cardiff where they fixed my leak with another major operation. I am still suffering headaches and just been told I will get better in time . Wish I never went to spire , My life as been destroyed and there is no mention of a leak on any of my paperwork . I’m going to London to try and get help because I believe I still have a CSf leak and am in constant pain and feel abandoned now spire Cardiff have had upwards of ten grand . I have sent an email to your complaints team !

Like previous posts, trying to get through to anybody to help and provide me with some simple reassurance and guidance before an MRI scan was a nightmare.
Once I had been put through to the correct department (apparently) on several occasions I was hanging on for over half an hour each time. The facility to leave my details to get a call back wasn't possible even when I followed the instructions .
I called the main reception again for a lady to take my details and she promised she would get someone to call be back but this never happened and waited days.
I received the necessary information and reassurance I needed from an excellent (NHS) physiotherapist I have been working with.
So I attended my scan without any support from Spire.
I can ill afford private fees but felt this course of action was necessary in my current condition but haven't been impressed with the process so far.

Private medical care is a total scam as far as I’m concerned, Spire is useless after consultation & MRI which my private medical care covered there was no correspondence from Spire they only seem to care about the money rather than the patient, horrible experience with Spire & I will be changing private care with another hospital from now on!

This would have been a five star review if it wasn't for the main reception staff (the foyer desk where you walk in not the departmental desk to be clear) being so unwelcoming and aloof on arrival; however, Mr Goyal and all the clinical team were professional, courteous, and reassuring. Thank you.
