Staying in a holiday cottage for the weekend and visited here today for a quick drink and lunch. Lovely staff dog friendly and good pub menu reasonable prices.met grandkids there again for a Sunday roast..huge portions and quick friendly service.. would recommend

Just been in again. Another massive steak. Just awesome.

Another visit today for another big steak!

Had the ultimate burger today. Without frys and the bun. My wife had the most awesome profiteroles.

Visited here on the 15th July. I purchased the inferno burger. When it came, I was disappointed. It was literally a breadcake with a medium sized burger which tasted like it had just been warmed up. It had a little melted cheese on it. For the price I paid, i expected a lot better quality. Overall the pub was nice inside, little dated but I felt this added to the atmosphere.

I've only been in once, so far, and will definitely be going back. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. But the best part was the food. Garlic mushrooms were absolutely devine, and my Sirloin steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare), still juicy and very tasty, I'm looking forward to our next visit

Me and my husband recently hired out the Hanging Gate for a wedding reception/first wedding anniversary party. We got married during lockdown so we could only have our small ceremony at the time.

Mark and the team were absolutely brilliant! we had a few meetings with them before the day and they came up with a plan that worked perfectly with our budget. They even helped us put up our decorations so it made the whole experience a lot less stressful for us. We had around 140 guests and with us having the use of upstairs as well as downstairs we had plenty of space, we even had a disco with a dance floor.

Everyone had such an amazing time, if you are ever looking for a place for a party in the future I would very much recommend the Hanging Gate.

Food, vibe, staff, everything was absolutely spot on. And the home made soup was just a cherry on the top !

Went on the last day of the decorations and was not disappointed! Amazing job! The food was lovely as usual too, we shared the pate to start and had a hot wrap each and we were stuffed! A quality country pub that's well worth a drive out to ????

Nice oap Christmas dinner lovely meal plus quiz bingo and singing carols. They have the room decorated out of this world. Very enjoyable day.
