We did a tasting (Highlands and Islands) with Sally who was knowledgeable and congenial. It was fun to try several different scotches from around the country. The building is lovely—I wish we’d had time to grab a bite in the cafe. The gift shop is very nice too with some very beautiful and quality souvenirs in addition to their whiskies.

My wife and I took part in the Deanston Distillery tour led by Adam. The our was informative and really interesting. Adam did a great job leading us and explaining their process. The tour ended in a tasting where we tasted three very distinct whiskys. We followed up the drinks with some lovely soup for lunch at the cafe inside. Be sure to take a walk along the River Teith, which powers the former mill that is now the distillery.

If you're a whisky enthusiast and can only make time to head to one distillery near Edinburgh, choose Deanston.

Brian was an excellent guide during the Warehouse 4 tour, and I got to taste some pretty old and unique whiskey. If you're driving, they also are generous with the sample bottles, so you'll be able to bring everything back to the hotel or wherever else. Very easy to recommend.

Visiting Deanston was a magical day for us. After touring Stirling Castle, we made our way to this beautiful Distillery. Nestled in the Teith River, the scene is breathtaking. Despite arriving after the last tour started, the friendly staff accommodated us, and we had a private tasting in the barrel room. We tried three types that were only recently pulled from the barrels in front of us. Each Scotch was better than prior, and the last, aged in Pedro Ximenez barrels, was some of the best Scotch I've ever had (and I've had a lot). Back in the shop, the staff took their time and provided other tastings. We bought a bottle of the "PX," and everyone went above and beyond to take care of us. We can't wait to make it back and spend more time in this idyllic part of Scottland .

Did the Maturation Experience last week and absolutely loved it. It was fascinating to sample Deanston from ex-Bourbon casks of various ages - this is a great counterpart to the Warehouse 4 experience which I did last year. Even though he's relatively new to the whisky world, Alexander was a great guide and, as always, there's nothing better than drawing whisky straight from the cask in the atmospheric surroundings of a traditional warehouse.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to linger as we had to drive up to Speyside, but I have to say out of all my whisky activities this holiday, the Deanston tasting at the warehouse ranks at the top, for the experience itself, the quality of the whisky, and the warm welcome by everyone.

The Warehouse Tasting was fantastic! All the whiskies we tasted were delicious, and the best part was that we didn’t have to finish them while we were there — we were given bottles to take the remainder of our samples home. The stemmed souvenir glass was an added bonus.

We visited for a guided tasting in late September. We had a great time. We did the Deanston family tasting, which was educational and fun. We really enjoyed it. It's clear the staff at the distillery take a lot of pride in their whisky and they enjoy sharing it with visitors. The gift shop was lovely too. We brought home a bottle of a distillery exclusive whisky, and we're so glad we get to enjoy a piece of Deanston at home. If you're in the area, it's absolutely worth a visit!

Really lovely Christmas market today. Could have spent a lot more if I hadn't already bought Xmas presents and if I had wanted a gift from Santa. Will definitely go again next year. Distillery shop and café were also very festive; really buzzing and we were there towards the end of the afternoon.
