Taxi turned late but as this was a Saturday afternoon and there was apparently an event on close by I could forgive this. However our driver, Ray, spent the whole ride complaining about the students in the area. When we got to our destination we asked to pay by card (This was confirmed by the company before hand that we could do) Ray said that he didn't accept card. We asked if there was a cash machine near by and he miraculously produced a card machine. I will probably find another company for future visits to the city

Taxi was ordered through the website, but it wasn't obvious that the system worked, so I had to call and check. Yes, it worked and they had my order. The taxi arrived on time, had to wait for us 5min, so understandably about £1.50 more than the original modest quote, all fine. The driver was friendly, helpful, not wasting his breath. I shall use this service again. But probably won't bother withthe website, as it feels unreliable. Otherwise would be 5 stars.

I used Pratts regularly for years. They were a reliable Durham based firm. Now they are part of a large conglomerate and drivers are dispatched from a base 35 miles away by people who do not know the area. I have been let down once too often, the last time was when a text arrived saying a booked taxi was on its way, but it arrived 45 minutes late - the driver was tasked just after he had dropped someone off at Newcastle Airport and he met heavy traffic. I missed my appointment.

Taxi 1 hour late for 2 brothers to take them home after visiting their mam in a care home on Mother’s Day. One brother is practically blind and the other has a learning disability. No apology and this dreadful experience has caused both brothers a lot of anxiety and has knocked their confidence in using a taxi. This is only the 4th time they have taken a taxi on their own as their dad has recently passed away.

Absolute rubbish. Booked taxi last Wednesday for Saturday night, 11.15pm from friends house in Framwellgate Moor to my house in Newton Hall (less than 2 miles). No sign at 11.30 so rang them. I thought they were a Durham firm but turns out they’re now called Phoenix from Blyth ????u200d♀️ Girl said he’ll be 10 mins. He wasn’t. Phoned again, she said he’ll be 20 mins. He wasn’t. Phoned again and she said he’s on his way, he’s at (a place name I’d never heard of), I said where’s that and she replied I’ve no idea I don’t know the area!!! After 6 phone calls and eventually deciding I’d be staying overnight with my friends he turned up at 1.15am, only 2 hours late. And was rude and defensive when I complained to him. Will never use again.

How to lose the train! AVOID. Better to walk. I called and the "employee" told me to wait 20 minutes, once 20 mintes were passed the same "employee" told me 10 minutes and then 15 mintes. Not to lose a ride those they are trained to say anything

Pre booked a taxi a few hours earlier, called 30 mins before to ask if the taxi was on its way (because the app showed 0 taxis in my city and i’d read a lot of reviews about the taxis being late), operator said they hadn’t left yet. I called 5 minutes after my taxi was supposed to arrive as the app still hadn’t said i had been assigned a driver etc, operator took 5 minutes to answer, and said “they’ll be with you soon”. I didn’t want to risk missing my train, so I just cancelled and booked an Uber which was with me within 5 minutes.

DISGUSTING SERVICE
Ordered taxi for 5.45pm from train station
I arrived early so rang at 5.25pm to confirm taxi still on way which they replied yes
Received text message at 5.35 taxi on way waited until 5.55 still no taxi i then rang again only to be told they had cancelled my taxi and no other cars available and they can send me another one at 6.45pm 1hour after my original time they
Said sorry nothing we can do
I'll leave it to your imagination my response
They only reason they have 1 star is they would not let me post with 0 stars
