I have just left last year and now I am going to another school, maplewoood is not a bad school, but theres not any burden on kids and its very pricy and expensive they don't have exams and a teacher gives 2 page homework which is due like next wee, rubish! So that is why I don't recommend going there unless you want your kids to know nothing, I mean I didn't know negitive numbers until I came to my new school!!!

I am just saying that they have really lowerd it done cuzz of covid!

This school is really bad. Students are out of control. The administration is invisible and/or useless at best. At the worst they implement micromanaging teaching techniques and discipline procedures that make it impossible for any kind of effective learning environment to be created. Most students are well below grade level. Instructional materials are non existent. The school is in its fifth year of operation and yet the science lab is still not equipped and basically non functional. Their use of an online chromebook based education is failing, it has resulted only in students being even more distracted. This school uses an English based Alberta curriculum which is very demanding, yet 75% of the students have poor English. There is no ESL program. This coupled with the constant disruptive behavior of many students results in no real authentic curriculum being delivered. There is a core of about 15-20% of students who could be high achievers, but they are constantly leaving due to the dysfunctional nature of the school. The teachers are really hard working and very professional. It’s amazing what they are able to accomplish given the circumstances. Most however, cannot wait for their contracts to be finished.
The school has also in the past not paid teachers, not covered visa penalty costs, and not covered medical expenses for teachers. The contract the school gives you is basically meaningless. Be aware that there could be fines if you resign after a three month probation period. Teachers who resigned within the probation period were threatened with fines, but as this was illegal they simply were not paid for their last month of work.
Avoid this school.

What I love about the place is the friendly atmosphere which reminds me of the schools in Canada. I even like the way that they build students character and emphasize on applied sciences.

School bad as hell im giving it 1 star as proof don’t put your students there. Most students are people are unbehaved. I was in there for 3 years I know and I don’t recommend it if you’re seeking good education.

Absolute delight. Books on essentially everything. I got a few old textbooks for uni primers and saved probably £100 compared to getting new ones. The owner is so friendly and lovely to have a conversation with.

My favourite bookshop in the country. Worth a visit to Morecambe to find yourself lost in here. The owner knows where everything is which never ceases to amaze me.

Fascinating TARDIS of a bookshop, literally filled and double-stacked. Eccentric, attentive and knowledgeable owner. The pictures are the only way to do it justice. There are books stacked on the floor and hovering above your head. Piles, stacks, cascades. A veritable trove.

Some measure of shelf wear — or at least evidence that books had been there so long they were almost melding with their shelves. Very reasonable pricing — the pencilled prices were not the sale price and considering the books we picked up, there was no cause to haggle.

Potential to be paradise or nightmare, depending on your interests and levels of book-based anxiety! Recommended to visit at least once, just for the experience.

I've been here a few times now. And eachtime is more magical than the last. The charming book store and it's many secret coves and wonders is definitely a place for book lovers and odd collectors alike!

Like an alladins cave of books.. They're every which way you turn. The owner is really helpful and knowledgeable. Must be thousands of books here. They sell vinyl records too. Can recommend.

We have been visiting this gem of a second hand bookshop for the last eleven years. Everytime we come on holiday we visit, and it does not dissapoint. Managed to pick up four great theological books to add to my ever grwoing collection, and all for just twenty pounds which would normally cost me close to £100 new. A friendly place to visit, and if your a book lover then prepare to spend several hours in here.
