Lovely staff, and very nice food, but just far, far too loud and noisy… struggled to hear my partner at dinner (and I’m under 40!).

Would suggest some bafflers in the ceiling area or similar… it’s a shame as food and service were great.

[edit after pub response: please just tell management you urgently need battlers.]

Unexpectedly exceptional! We called ahead and even though it was late a table was held for us. Jono was a delight and accommodating in our questions and banter. And the kitchen completely delivered on their varied and delicious menu. If you just come for a nibble at least get the truffle parmesan fries.

Ps - cocktails were on point!

Great location, great food and drinks, and at reasonable prices too, although our starter came with our main courses.
Very echoey inside so difficult to hold a conversation with more than one person without shouting (which makes it even louder). However, I think this was due more to lack of staff at the time, so overall I would go back again as it was good value and a good atmosphere

Great pub with a nice atmosphere. Outside standing area is a bit small and naturally spills onto the road which means constantly being ushered onto the pavement. Not the bars fault, just annoying

Pub was great, nice atmosphere. Our original server was amazing - smiley and helpful. We ordered Sunday roasts (there were three of us) and the food came promptly. I noticed that our roasts didn't come with potatoes, despite them being on the menu. I enquired with the (second) server, he went to ask the kitchen and returned telling us that the chef informed him that roasts didn't come with potatoes. Knowing this to be false (you only have to look at the menu) I challenged him, he went back to the kitchen and only then did the kitchen admit that they ran out of potatoes. I don't mind that the kitchen ran out of an item, that happens, but I really disliked the outright lying that occurred. The chef knew when he sent our food out that there were no spuds and didn't say anything or offer a substitute. Then, when I enquired about the spuds, we were told a bald faced lie. Inexcusable. It's a shame too, because the food was quite nice and I liked the pub, but the experience was soured by the lies - there's just no need for it. Admit you don't have potatoes and offer an alternative, like chips, and everyone is happy.

The place is lovely especially on a sunny day!
The service is friendly and the food very good. Stop there to avoid the crowd of Notting Hill and Portobello road on the weekend!
