Fantastic nature reserve with lots of birds to spot. If you're lucky you might get a glimpse of a Bittern at the Bittern Lake. There's lots of water birds on the lakes and rivers. Would recommend to anyone who needs a bit of natural beauty in their life.

Lovely longvwalk along canal from Amwell nature reserve and as far as you like. We stop at Saracens Head for a pint, Guinness is very good there and so are their chips, served with sea salt and thyme. Then we continued for another mile and a bit. Total walk around 5 1/2 miles with a few stops to talk to the narrow-boats community.

Beautiful views and tranquility. Walks around Great Amwell are always amazing, as you have views of wildlife and nature. There are different routes and paths to take that lead up to different towns. The nature reserves are just stunning, views of birds and other wildlife. If you are into photography definitely a great place to capture some amazing shots.

Great walk by the nature reserve and lake, a must for all bird lovers and photographers. Several different species of birds. Good paths albeit slightly muddy in places with big puddles.

It offers walk options in a range of quiet landscapes from the ponds to some forestry, without forget the canal. Great place for birdwatching, many times including surprising findings. Very enjoyable

Amwell nature reserve is a great day out whether you like walking in the countryside or watching wildlife.
