Drove for this firm for 4 days as a HGV 1 tramper. Multi drop to building sites that you can only get a rigid in . They expect you to sleep in lay-bys or industrial areas. They won’t pay for parking in secure truck stops. Don’t like you using tolls. Your on a salary rate of £600 per week which is £120 per day. Night out are £25 . They take on newly qualified drivers because experienced drivers won’t put up with the working conditions I’ve got 30 + years experience and won’t sleep in lay-bys . If your parked up for the night a word of advice. Go to a toilet before you do. Otherwise you’ll have to use the lay-bys or field .

Thanks to the HGV driver who showed us , riders , care and attention . He saw me and my horse riding along road and SLOWED down for us . It was very much appreciated. Whilst my horse is safe in traffic so many can get spooked . I wish I could remember your name . Rang the office to thank the driver so hope the compliment was passed along . Fabulous driving , if only other road users could drive like that chap .

Appalling driving - the worst I have witnessed from a HGV driver (normally so good). 17:10 on 18/11/2021 at the bottom of Gilesgate bank (in Durham). Traffic lights were on red all the time that the lorry was coming down the bank, driving too fast. Went 5m past the red light and stopped on the pedestrian crossing. Luckily I was at the edge of the crossing otherwise I would have been killed. When I politely remonstrated with the driver, I received a snarling tirade of invective. Contemptible – trust me when I say that I will NEVER use or recommend Durham City Transport.

Interflex have used DCT for over 20 year for all their UK deliveries, in that time they have been nothing but a great asset who will go above and beyond on a regular basis, fantastic customer service, great staff with an excellent set of drivers, would highly recommend

Wage structure needs looking at by an archeologist its so old. 600 before tax/ni etc a week for class 1 driver max hours, no overtime payments.
