Lovely country park with walks and interesting information boards dotted about with several play areas for the kids. Large cafe (with toilets). Dog washing area!! Fairy garden. A TRAIN on a track for rides (pay for this). Also the small war cemetery,which is quite emotional to visit. All in all a great day out for all the family.

Family-friendly park with lots of wide open spaces to spread out and not feel that everyone's on top of each other. There's a narrow gauge railway for kids to have a ride on, some interesting wood carvings, etc. There's also a big play area with swings and slides, etc. The cafe and restaurant are really well stocked with fast efficient service. There are loads of picnic tables outside and the toilets are really high quality for a park. There's even a dog wash station. The visitor centre is packed full of info to tell you all about the history of the original military hospital dating back to the Crimean War in 1856. You can visit the remaining buildings with various restoration projects to take you back through the years.

This is a great place to relax and have a picnic. If you don’t want to sit down on the ground there are tables and chairs located in front of the Royal Victoria Chapel. The Chapel itself is a great place to visit. It has a variety of items on display and a detailed history of the building. Outside, not far from the chapel, there is a play area for the children. On the opposite side of the field is a garden which has a carved out picnic table and displays made from 140 year old cedar trees. Parking is plentiful with ticketless machines dotted around. Worth a visit.

Lovely place to visit, interesting history with the military hospital building to explore, with lots of nursing memorabilia. Entrance is free to the main part of the building ,but entry to the bell tower is £3.75 per adult. Definitely worth the climb up the steps, but not for the faint hearted .
Parking seemed expensive .
There was a cafe ,small gift shop area in the main lobby ,plenty of walks around ,and of course the beach.
All the staff we came across were very helpful and friendly

Lovely waterfront country park, lots of wooded paths to get out of the sun on hot days, or large open fields for sunbathing or playing ball with the kids, designated BBQ areas with on site BBQs, fields can be hired, cafe with plenty of seating, the museum inside the Chapel is must see.

If you want piece and quiet stay away from the seating area by the main cafe, it can become yap yap central with the amount of dogs.

Overall a lovely well kept park.

This park is a lovely place to visit and is easily accessible from the village of Netley.
Getting to Netley is fairly easy just head through woolsten via weston and weston shore which leads to the village.
The park has a great history with it once being the site of a military hospital back in Queen Victoria's time with the Chapel being the only part still standing today.
It has a great restaurant which serves food during the day as well as coffee/ tea and ice creams.
Plenty of mens/womens/ children's and disabled toilet facilities as well near the restaurant and in the restaurant so you'll never be caught short.
It has plenty of play areas for the kids and ride on railway which operates during the summer months which is always great fun to ride on.
The Chapel is a museum and has many displays of the hospitals history and there's also a stair case that leads up to the top of the tower for a truly great view of Southampton water and all the surrounding area.
Lots of outdoor seating as well which is always great in the summer months.

I've been coming here for 30+ years. Only now have I walked in a different direction from the chapel. There's so much more than the wonderful water side fields. Check the woods out instead.

Lawn to play games or just touch grass, dog friendly with even a dog wash machine, ice-cream (inc. for vegans), beach, little train to ride in. I had a great day there, and my mobility needs (pair of shoulder crutches, and I fatigue easily) were no problem. I went there for a steampunk meet
