Kind and Understanding GP -
Saw a lovely GP yesterday, very thorough and understanding while dealing with a difficult conversation. Could not have been treated better. Carried out lots of tests & asked lots of questions and discussed the probable diagnosis in a calm manner. She referred for further tests which is a relief that the matter is now being investigated fully.

My baby was very unwell, was expecting a call from the doctors. That never happened, when I called again the manager said there was nothing they could do. Even though they have a duty of care. He ended up in Russell’s hall hospital that night no thanks to this surgery. I will be writing a formal complaint. The reception staff are incredibly rude also always have been, I’ve had the phone put down on me in the past. The doctors you’ll see someone new every time and most of them haven’t got a clue. Dr Tank is the only decent one.

Was going to get tested for ADHD/Autism.

1 year later, still not heard back.
The whole telephone appointment is sometimes a joke, it's common for it to be something NEEDING attention in real life, and to be handed a telephone appointment to talk about the issue more. This isn't therapy lol
Apart from that, have had a couple of appointments which have been made, and then booked in for a couple hours later in the day, which is fantastic, of course.

Overall, positive, but, SERIOUSLY needs to work on mental health related subjects.

Shocking surgery, Coombs Wood was great. Reception staff were efficient, friendly and genuinely sympathise with your call. Stourside have 0 compassion, reception staff are rude, give out wrong test results!! and are generally not bothered!. I've had a face to face appointment cancelled but not told until I turned up for the appointment!! Receptionist was holding the GP accountable and said the GP should have called me! I am losing faith at break neck speed with this surgery, not all doctors can be the same surely??!! Will be looking to move as soon as possible.

Very incompetent,abrupt and unfriendly; basic knowledge also questionable as they make constant mistakes(during pregnancy I got prescribed medicine that cannot be taken in pregnancy),prescriptions being send to the wrong pharmacies or not issued at all, myself and my baby boy at some point were refused the REPEAT prescriptions as our ongoing issues simply disappeared from their system. I have now moved to a different surgery as this one is the worst I've ever been in.

Unfortunately it won't let me give a zero star rating. Absolutely shocking surgery. Staff constantly aloof and unable to give me any answers, and became confrontational and aggressive when I inquire as to why I've been left for nearly an hour with no information. I arrived early for my appointment and other people were seen 40 minutes before I was called even though they arrived after me. Full of people without masks and no exempt lanyards even though there are notices everywhere that demand it as mandatory. Complete and utter joke. Do yourself a favour and change surgeries, this one isn't worth the time of day.

Title - a disgrace to the Medical profession
Unfortunately I can’t give 1 star. This surgery is an absolute disgrace , They have no compassion whatsoever , They Have no interest in there patients or the service they offer ! Here is a couple of examples of what I can only describe as incompetence and a smear on the NHS.
1. I Had a change of medication via the doctors , the medication I was given didn’t help things at all only made me feel worse [ side effects ]. Rang the surgery a few days later only to be told 10 days before I COULD SEE A DOCTOR TO DISCUSS ALTERNATIVES ! 10 days without the correct medication for Asthma and a sever trauma for pain relief for — 10 days I could have died !!!
2. Whilst awaiting for discharge from Hospital 2 weeks later after receiving surgery for a sever trauma and following countless stitches in my thigh and 4 days to recover enough to leave for home I was told to by the Surgeon to contact my doctors who would remove the stitches in 3 days time following my discharge and also review my Medication to ensure I kept on top of the pain , So I contacted the Doctors only to be told they couldn’t fit me in and to contact an emergency dept in Russel hall who “MIGHT” be able to help. I then asked about the. Medication review and I the reply - you will have to wait until someone can be bothered to help you in the coming days I believe again 10 days were quoted !
I was fortunate to be having the discussion on the phone with them while I had to nurses attending to me who looked on in disbelief at what they were hearing and had to ask themselves what on earth the surgery were playing at .
Is there any advice I can give to any potential patients - yes God is the only hope you have if this is your Doctors because you have more chance of meeting him than receiving proper any care from them .

Being a previous patient at Coombes Wood, I can't catch my breath at how impersonal this practice is. I go to the GP roughly once a year and the service has been chronic. The first time I met the principal GP she didn't even ask me how I was before informing me she only gave each patient 5 minutes. I am sitting here with tonsillitis and after ring 3 times in 2 days I am being told that I have to ring for an emergency appointment at either 8am or 2.30pm. Unfortunately having to work full time to earn a living I missed calling at 8am. Rang when I could to be informed I had to ring again at 2 30pm, even though I clarified I can't swallow and can hardly speak. On the plus side when you do get in the locum doctors are nice. In the last 2 years and the 3 times I've gone I've only had locums, but rather them than someone who only gives '5 minutes per patient', regardless what my condition is! Where oh where did the care & personal touch go. People go to the GP because they're ill, not for a day out, so a little kindness and understanding would go a long way to making people feel cared for and perhaps feel a little better.
