Don't park in the main carpark, unless you've got money to incinerate.
The carpark just opposite the (internal) roundabout is about half the cost, private yet decent and close/on-site still.

Very difficult to find entry to car park. Signposting very poor. Ended up parking in a private car park which turned out to be cheaper.

Paying for parking in a hospital???

You'd think the UK healthcare system would straight up slam private car parks for those who need it for health matters, no one should ever be charged to park a car nor for health, we didn't choose to be here yet we are!

All the money from this car park does NOT go to the hospital, some chappy out there is pocketing off others misery, its as plain and simple with the day going to night.

It's easy to get parked but layout is a little confusing, alternatively sniperley Park and ride is with reasonable walking distance and free. It would be great if the park and ride stopped near the hospital.

I came for a check up and was treat terrible. The woman kept saying it was covid and started slamming about in a huge strop. I don't have covid. I was also told not to pay for parking on the main desk, then I could pay by card in a porta cabin which doesn't exist. I had to go to the carpark office to get a ticket to get out. The guy said this wrong information is given all the time by hospital staff.

Light bright and airy. Inside fantastic. Had to look about for entrance to visitor's car park though so signage there could be better. Far superior to Sunderland Royal - much cleaner. Lovely staff. Enjoyed looking at the displayed surgical and medical equipment of years ago. How things have changed.

Car parking and pricing are the usual hospital fiasco, especially with pay machines that don't work.

But the hospital is spotless, well laid out, with easy to reach depts. and adequate signage.

The staff, ALL staff, are extremely helpful, especially the receptionist who went back to my doctor just to confirm something on my appt form.

My eye doctor, was very concerned about the history of my injuries to get as full a picture as possible to help with a new diagnosis, and ongoing treatment plan.

And even down to the humble cleaner who went out of her way to take me via a 'short cut' to the nearest lift.

Absolutely exceptional, and I thank them one and all.
