Lovely place to visit... but...

Came to park, car park was busy, we found a space but the person next to us was poorly parked and over the line.

As it was the only space available we had to use it and I will accept that we parked over the line, but next to us was not a space, it was not a path and was not access to storage/facilities. In short, by being over the line we were occupying some unusable space and otherwise the space we were mainly in would've been unusable due to parking in the next space over.

I accept the fine and will pay it, but it really is the pointless application of the rule rather than the reason for it. Our parking was not preventing access or occupying two spaces, yes over the line but that's the rule to protect access not a rule for rules sake.

Brereton heath itself is WONDERFUL. A lovely place to go with children. Dogs allowed off lead, a lake, good paths and woodland.

PHowever if we are rating the car park the payment options are abysmal. Basically you have to have cash, and be prepared to queue for ages to pay for parking. The machine technically takes card payment except it doesn't and card payments tend to fail and you have to start over a number of times (hence the long queue). There is a pay by phone option but good luck getting phone reception to do so! I'm a regular here and there is often a queue for parking payment because people struggle so much and there is only one machine.

Please introduce an annual membership fee Brereton Heath!!

Lovely place. Newfangled ticket machine would be great if card payments/contactless were working.
