A bit of background: We lived in Turkey for many years and I am deeply familiar with - and fond of - Turkish cuisine. Not just the kebabs and shawarmas that every street vendor sells - but the entire diversity of the cuisine.
I came to Sofra (which, by the way, is now called Qaryat Istanbul -- which should have been the first red warning sign) because of a real intense craving for manti - the traditional ravioli-like dumplings served with sarmisakli (garlic) yogurt, salca, served with Turkish spices.
However, when I ordered the manti, the waiter didnt know what that was (second sign!).
When the order arrived, my confusion/disappointment intensified because the manti looked fried rather than boiled. But then I got the shock of my life when I discovered that under the top layer of fried dumplings, they had basically just served boiled pasta in a tomato sauce.
Disgusted, I told the waiter that I will not even touch the meal, paid, and left.
Summary - avoid this place if you know anything about good food or Turkish cuisine.

Ordered the chicken and lamb donor mix and Shawarma, It was amazing! I love service and clean not crowded place.
Loved the complimentary hummus and tea too.
I came from Al Ain and decided to try this Turkish kitchen, it is really solid taste.
Thanx Fatima she was excellent service.
I gave 4 stars.

For families.
The staff is very nice and kind .
Food so here is my opinion . Due to the fact I been customer for years I can diffidently tell the food is not the same as it used to it was much better .
I tried the cheese pie was really nice. The chicken toak was over spicy for me my taste . And the meat order it was below average and it was not tender .
For the sweet I had buglwa with icecreem . The ice Creem was nice and fresh but the buglwa was bad and it has too much oil.
The tea was just perfect I really enjoy I think this was the best thing I had.
I would give it 3/10
And would come back for the cheese pita and the tea .
