If I can suggest anywhere to go for a local scottish holiday this is the place. My girlfriend and I had a two night visit and had a great time, we experienced the local food from the restaurants only 13 minutes (used a stopwatch) from the house to Killin. Everything was clean and the hot tub was an excellent feature.
Highly recommended.

We will definitely be back.

The experience was exactly as to be expected, beautiful log cabin with great views of the Loch, owners are very friendly and didn't hesitate to help us solve a little mishap with equipment we had brought. Don't get me wrong the photos on the website are lovely but much more to be hold in person. Highly recommended

The dairy was a wonderful little home for us. Nicely decorated and flooded with light from the roof windows. Not a sound outside in the evening except for the birdsong. Bliss. Would have liked it to be a bit closer to a pub but hey, it's pretty outstanding and the hot tub was glorious.

Stayed at Ben Lawers Rest, on the Craggantoul estate . This is the fourth of their cottages we have stayed in round Loch Tay.
The Rest is very private, with views over Loch Tay, and many glorious walks within easy driving distance.
The cottage itself is furnished to a very high standard, and has a certain old world charm.
It is spotlessly clean, and , before our arrival, we were given instructions to follow regarding COVID 19, to ensure us and staff are kept safe.

OAK COTTAGE LOCH TAY CRAGGANTOUL
We have stayed in many beautiful holiday rentals and have never had to complain about anything as they have all been as advertised ! BUT please be aware that this place"Oak Cottage,Loch Tay" is very run down. I would like to say staff did sort some things out that we alerted them too but as the days unfolded so did lots more other faults too which we did not mention to them as to be honest we were meant to be relaxing on our holiday and not meant to be spending all our holiday reporting all these problems ! Surely this is the job of the cleaners to find and report any problems and have them fixed before the guests arrive! Why ALL these problems have gone unnoticed is anyones guess! We were greeted with dirty windows and a Bed sheet which had big URINE stains on it which staff came and changed when we rang them about this YUK (why was it put on the bed in that state in the first place!!) We had to wash all glasses/crockery / cutlery / utensils /pans & place matts before we could even use them all as they had got other guests food on them . There was Dried food stuck to one of the dining table chairs, Curtains hung off rails in lounge and twin bedroom, curtain hems all hung down on lounge and bedroom curtains (staff came and sew some of them up by hand ) filthy bedroom curtains and patio door curtains (staff removed the patio door curtains to wash but when returned they had shrunk a few inches so looked terrible ) Kitchen unit kick boards fell down each time the dishwasher was opened, they came and fixed clips to them and fastened them back up! Wooden work top around sink had black mould on it . No hot tub head rests as they had been removed. We actually returned home 2 days early as we could not face staying in this place any longer. I have emailed the owners who basically have said that staff fixed the problems that we told them about which is true as we actually emailed to say a thank you to the lovely staff at the time but this was before all the other stuff that we found ! But this still does not deter from the fact of the poor state and condition & cleanliness that we found this place in ! You don't pay £1100 for a week to walk in the door and have to spend nearly 2 hrs cleaning it and ringing for the maintenance man to come and fix a list of problems ! But according to the reply of the owner we should be grateful that we were ONLY paying £1100 per week and not £2000 per week like some of their other rentals!!!! VERY VERY POOR run downplace! Covid safe !!!!! NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST. Cannot recommend this place at all !

I booked Osprey Lodge for 4 nights as a special break for my Partners 60th Birthday. This Lodge was chosen as we both love Scotland and the idea of a ‘luxury’ break in one of our favourite places was so appealing to me and I was happy to pay the cost associated with a luxury break. I will now list our findings so you yourself can decide if you would have been happy.

I will firstly point out Osprey Lodge was cleaner when we left it than when we arrived

Cutlery drawer had bits of food in it and had dirty stains in the compartments

Fingerprints all over wardrobe mirrors

White sofa had not had cushions removed and vacuumed for a long time it was full of food and dirt

When we moved the sofa there were crisps, sweets and dust so sofa hadn’t been vacuumed underneath or mopped

Filthy drawer under bathroom sink

Black hairs on bathroom floor

No matches to light fire (these were brought later the evening we arrived when we complained)

The decking was full of leaves that had been there a long time and all over the top of the hot tub

3 decking lights not working

Silver front of the microwave fell off during our first night there

The DVD player didn’t work

There was no washing powder - lodge states we supply some as we have a sceptic tank

Packaging from new pillows thrown on top of wardrobe which fell on us when we put our suitcase up there

We contacted the owner Nina immediately we found some of these issues and were offered a cleaner to come again the following day but as we were on holiday I didn’t want someone else in the property so we cleaned some of the areas ourselves. As the 4 days went on and other things came to light like the dvd and washing powder I did request a conversation with Nina however was called by Diane from the Management company. I explained how disappointed I was with things and how the ‘luxury’ banner had not been lived up to in my opinion. Nobody can deny that the lodge is in a beautiful setting or that this is a rural area and things might not be pristine however basic cleaning not being carried out is unacceptable as well as not having items necessary for your stay ie matches.

Diane did apologies and again offered to get the cleaner back, right the dvd situation and change deck lights but again I pointed out to her that we were on holiday and didn’t want people around - in a luxury accommodation all of these things should be automatically taken care of before guests arrive not when they are there.

She asked I put an email together with everything we had encountered and send it to Nina which I did who apologised and said she would return some funds to compensate us.

Well I got £50 !

I notice that the price for the lodge has now gone up for 2023 to £250 per night so if you are thinking of paying this luxury price for a luxury experience please be aware that it might not be as luxury as you expect.
