Its indeed a beautiful place to hangout. Greenery and gardens everywhere. The dungeon and princess tower were average but The great hall and bird show was very good. Car parking is very far from the castle. If possible please avoid buying anything from cafes inside the castle. Prices are very high and quality of food even coffee was very very low.

Lovely weekend, stayed in lodge in castle grounds, very interesting and educational weekend. Great for kids, enjoyed all the guided tours. The staff told lovely stories, and the falconry show was outstanding. Food was excellent. Not cheap but we'll worth the money if you can afford it. Parking on site.

A brilliant day out with something for everyone. The brand new Trebuchet show is full of thrills & the Falconer's Quest show is amazing, my little nature enthusiast (10 years old) was living his best life. The wall walks although hard going are well worth it for the views & the actual castle is really well laid out with plenty to see. The staff are all very attentive & friendly. Excellent talk on the history of armour that was accessible to all ages. As we were waiting in the Great Hall for my husband & eldest who were using the facilities my youngest (5 years old) saw a member of staff dressed as a knight & excitedly called out to him. Although the man had his hand on the handle of the door marked "staff only" so was clearly due/in need of a rest he took the time & came over to converse with my very excited son before heading off again. My only disappointment of the day (& the reason I knocked off a star) is that parking is not complimentary. We saved to get the tickets to take the children & they do cost a bit. Although they are more than worth it it does leave a sour feeling that after the tickets, food on site & money in the gift shop (the children wanted a sword each) we then had to pay EVEN more to park ????

Great day out with lots of different experiences and the falconers quest is a must. Worth checking what is on before you go and definitely book online beforehand or use vouchers if you have them to avoid full price

We visited the Castle in summer 2018 to see war of Roses in particular. There is a fantastic offer to have two day admission for just 1£ more and we used it and never regret. As there is so many things to see in the Castle. Interior is magnificent. It just moves you to the past. Highly recommend.

The grounds are open for pass holders. Limited facilities, but tge grounds are well kept, the peacock garden is open, and they are requiring reservations to limit the number of guests. All in all a nice couple of hours to get out while still being cautious. The paths are set up to be one-way to assist with maintaining 2 meters as well.

The War of the Roses show, and the falconry show were superb. Great fun for the kids especially. The castle grounds and rampart walk are also good.

Amazing place. Everything here is amazing. Great events, well maintained and the kids loved it. Zog was loved by all the kids and we loved it from the second we got there to the second we left.
