What a lovely pub! It's not a gastro pub (yawn!). It's a proper pub that does great food too. The staff and locals were very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the beer was perfect. I would love to have stayed longer and will definitely visit again if I'm in the area. Thank you!

Just stopped by on holiday for beef Sunday lunch, fish and chips and steak. Food was delicious, staff very friendly and welcoming. Outside could do with a little freshen up but would certainly come again. I wasn't drinking however could see they had a great range of ales and cider.

Visited the Balance Inn whilst on holiday in the area. Good size car park & garden. Very friendly, warm welcome. Excellent Sunday roast in a 'proper' country pub. A great range of beers & ciders on draught, offered samples of them to decide which one to have. Lovely chocolate brownie & ice cream for dessert. Good range of burgers, & wood-fired pizzas on the menu as well.
Will definitely be returning before the end of the holiday, and next time we are back in the area. Highly recommend.

Lovely place, the sunday roast was absolutely the best we have had in a long time, delicious desserts and what a pleasure to meet such friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, dog friendly is a plus. Thank you ????

We’ve just come back from this little place. It was our first night out without children for a long time and we were in need of a good feed.
It was surf n turf night. The dish we had chosen had ran out of the steak cut. So we opted for a different steak but the the other trimmings.
The trimmings we found out has sold out too and we must say the steaks weren’t great. BUT listening to others, I’d say we just had the poorer cuts as everyone else seemed to love theirs. This sounds like I’m complaining , I’m not. As we mentioned our issues and they adjusted the price. To which we paid more as they deducted too much. The started were amazing. Great selection of Drinks. And most importantly, we were listened to. The fact that they ran out of stock shows they were busy and popular. As for the steak. It happens sometimes. This is a great place and the staff were brilliant. We’ll return for sure. I can only give this 5 stars as despite the little upset, what we did have, was exceptional! Well done

A lovely humble village pub, full of character. Reasonably priced drinks and a good selection from locally sourced breweries.

We had the rump steak and the ultimate burger and they were fantastic. A great evening, we will be returning soon!

A local pub for local people. Good atmosphere unless you end up in the modern extension/conservatory.

In response to the reply to my initial post, the food we ordered was taken into the conservatory by the pub staff and so we assumed this was where we were meant to eat it. No-one said we should not use that room or suggested an alternative place to eat it.
