The Church of St Edith in Eaton-under-Heywood, Shropshire, stands on the lower slopes on Wenlock Edge. The significant lean on the south porch and the massive buttresses on the north side give the impression the church is in danger of tumbling down the hill.
The nave is the oldest section, dating from the 12th century. Three tiny Norman windows pierce the walls of the nave but have since been supplemented with later fenestrations.
The tower and chancel were added in the early 13th century. Further alterations occured in the 14th and 15th centuries, including the construction of the timber roof of the nave. The comparatively flat chancel roof is from 1600, featuring large foliate bosses.
Parking is on the lanes outside the church. A composting toilet is available at the top of the churchyard.
