Great little inn with very friendly staff and great value rooms. Stayed in the main building on this occasion but have stayed in the barn conversation across the car park before. Food is excellent serving locally sourced ingredients which really hit the spot after a day out in the hills.

This is a hidden gem of an Inn. The most amazing food and wonderful staff. They genuinely treat you like family. Comfortable rooms, idyllic setting and plenty of good walks and beautiful veiws if you prefer to sit and relax. Close to Wast Water which is perfect for wild swimming or a good hike.
Try the local scrumpy as it's amazing.
You can't go wrong with choosing to stay here

Fantastic food, great service. Very clean and well maintained Inn with a lovely ambience. The food was delicious and very generous portions. We both had King Prawns in a chilli and garlic dressing served on sour dough for starters...yummy. I had Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie for main, which was cracking whilst my wife had Belly Pork and she loved it. Will definitely visit again.

Visiting from Austin Texas & this place is Beautiful! Good place to bring entire family+ Dogs or have a lovely date. Proper English Lunch (Sunday Roast,) we had roast beef, mashed carrots , red cabbage, lovely cheesy cauliflower, roasted potatoes, leeks , Yorkshire pudding. We were too full for dessert but the apple crumble is a must have. Enjoy a lovely walk, catch the train & come back to the inn to enjoy an amazing meal .

Just popped in for a drink, so can't comment on rooms or food. Good choice of 5 well kept craft ales. Some fruit ciders too. Large open plan bar and a cracking garden with flowers, comfortable outside chairs and benches and even space for kids to play a bit of footie. Good friendly service and reasonable prices too. What's not to love?

Great pub. Real ale selection is good however first was off and then poured me a pint when I hadn't even chosen yet and only wanted a half as cycling. Will give them the benefit of the doubt..

After 3 days and three nights of the best Inn/Pub that I have ever stayed/drank in, I left regrettably to continue our U.K. adventures......
The service/staff friendliness is the highlight I will cherish the most in my memories and a return visit is a "must do"...
Holley & John are "superstars" ...

I and my dog were out for a drive and popped in because there was a welcoming sign saying dogs welcome.
The lady behind the bar was very nice, friendly and welcoming.
I had a pint and some snacks I shared then I realised I was still hungry so had fish and chips.
It came nicely presented and very fresh.
Very probably the best pub fish and chips I have had.
So thank you miss for your hospitality,I will be back for more very soon.
