The staff member behind the counter today was as helpful as a poke in the eye. From now on I will be opting for a private delivery service. The post office / Royal Mail system is so archaic, inflexible just an unnecessary hassle.

Having made five failed attempts at renewing my Passport online, I popped in to do the fast-track Post Office application. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, photo taken, read this digitally sign here, Done. Got home, and got an e-mail saying Passport Office had received the renewal and was working on it (Thu), this morning (Mon four days later) e-mail saying the passport was approved and was being printed and posted. Arrived Tuesday, only five days after ordering. Best £19 I have spent in a long time! Thank you boss lady in Dunbar Post Office!

The most UNFRIENDLY post office I have ever visited. I usually visit the Haddington one and they are superb, engaging, friendly and genuinely helpful (ie choosing appropriate services rather than just trying to upsell you every single time like Dunbar does!).

This one however....(and based on 10+ visits now) Wow. Sour faced, sharp, and have seemingly forgotten how to smile. The guy was ok, but the younger lady was just disinterested and bordered on rude. Why she is in a customer facing role is beyond me, I think she'd be better placed behind the scenes, well away from the customers she obviously despises.

Honestly, people of Dunbar go visit the Haddington PO and see how your postal experience SHOULD be. Don't settle for such a negative and miserable place.

Just heard that they told my 13 year old daughter that she had no choice and had to use special delivery. Ripping of children a new all time low!

I had a parcel delivered here as this was an option from the shop I purchased from online. No delivery card received but an email from the seller saying the parcel had been delivered to the post office.

I phoned the post office to ask if my parcel had been received. The woman who answered was snooty and proceeded to tell me that a lot of people get confused with the Royal Mail and the post office and maybe I should contact the Royal Mail sorting office in Dunbar.

I then told her the seller clearly stated the parcel would be delivered to her post office. Away she goes to check and lo and behold, she has my parcel.

Save the lecture hen and just get on with doing your job.

Always friendly. The queue can sometimes be long, but everyone is dealt with in an efficient and welcoming manner.
