Definitely a must visit if you love the lore of ancient stone formations. I would also recommend reading up a bit before going in, as there is not much in the way of plaques or on-site reading material to guide you through what you are looking at or what to look for. A fun experience especially for Outlander fans ;)

This is a wonderful site but with a tour guide clambering over the Cairns I can see this going the same way as Stonehenge and being sealed off from the public for heritage to be saved.. lots of other boulders in the surrounding lands - obviously part of the cairns make.

Decent amount of parking. This place is amazing to think of how long it's been around. It's a little out of the way but worth it. Really needs to be seen and also really needs protection from the public. So not sure how much longer we'll get access .

Clava Cairns is a fascinating and amazing complex of stone circles and burial cairns. Complex is the word too, with the three core cairns being set within a ritualised landscape. The cairns and the valley align with the midwinter sunrise. This is emphasised by marker stones along the valley. FREE to visit with a good sized free car park. No visitors centre but plenty of interpretation boards. Make this a must-visit when you come to Scotland

It is a beautiful area with lots of history. It's not exactly "fun" or "exciting," but it's worth a stop. Visit the high tain real nearby as well.

Very beautiful place. Signs explained the stones' history.

We were in a motorhome and limited parking for large vehicles. Get there early for parking availability.

On a cold and rainy day, visiting the Clava Cairns you can almost feel the ancestors from ages past. This is a well maintained historical monument site down a quiet road. Larger than expected it contains multiple examples of Cairns. You can walk freely amongst the stones, and enjoy quiet and thoughtful moments. Yes, this is one of the sites from which the stones in Outlander were inspired. But it’s much more than that. Enjoy the trees, mossy stones and the quiet surrounds.

A very interesting prehistoric site with a mysterious past. There are three of these large stone cairns at this site surrounded by what are presumed to be calendar stones. The grounds are quiet and peaceful.
