Before this visit, I last went to The Railway when a previous owner was there - it was so unfriendly then. Now it is very welcoming and a lovely place to go for a pint. Well done - 100% recommended

We discovered The Railway Inn after going for a bike ride along the river bank, we called in for a snack and drink. Barry had just taken over the pub and cooked some home made chips especially for us.
This impressed us so it soon became our local pub, the staff are always welcoming and helpful. Jack the young talented chef cooks home made meals, no cheating here with packet mixes. Prices are average but the platefull you get is large and worth the money. I won't be trying the ham hock tho it's huge, my husband managed it tho.
We decided to have our wedding function here in his function room The Sun and Moon, this has a small stage, dance floor and it's own bar. We had 48 guests who were given a choice of roast beef, chicken, pork or ham roast dinner, No deep fat fried roast potatoes here and home made Yorkshire puddings, some of our guests had vegetarian options.
Barry's organisation was spot on, everything went like clock work. We had an amazing time, our guests loved the food. No complaints. Magic Barry thank you so much for all your hard work.
We stayed over for 1 night, rooms are warm and cozy with a welcome tray of tea and coffee. Full English breakfast was a big plateful and delicious. The next night was in whitby and cost twice as much to stay and the full English breakfast there was half the size we'd had at The Railway Inn.

This place could have been great.took 2 to 3 hours fi ding the place and got an average speed ticket.The was ok but smelt.The breakfast was not as good as expected cheap.sausage ,lincolnshire sausage would have helped
Second day would I.have continental breakfast as boss.doesn't feel well.Her bar jmanager who.lives on site no help.I esxaped after 2days bisssssss

Great home cooked fresh food. Friendly helpful polite staff. Clean and tidy. Great area for biking or walking. They have B & B.

The room booked was not available and the room offered was incomplete with bare lightbulb, unfinished shelving, shoddy wire coathangers and smelling of something - possibly paint. April 2016

Love this place. Park here go for a run along by the river then return to a cold beer
