The staff were VERY welcoming and incredibly polite.
We came for lunch around 12:30 and it began to get busier but the food was still served very quickly. The children’s meals were great portion sizes!! Which makes a change from other children’s menus elsewhere.
The adult menu was great with lots of choice. I had the pork belly and my husband chose the pie. They were both delicious and to finish I tried the new cheesecake and I cannot praise it enough it was sooo good.

Lovely breakfast choice.
The room had everything we needed . It was quiet, nice shower, tea, coffee, biscuits etc.I found the mattress hard, but I love a really soft mattress. My husband thought it was fine.

We arrived early, our table was booked for half past six, and upon checking in, we were given the option of eating inside or in the garden, as it was such a lovely evening we chose the garden. The garden is deceptively large. It has about 20 tables with views of the West Sussex countryside and is a serene sun trap.
We were given menus and a wine list, and we made our way through the bar to the garden. Having found a table (even that early, there were only about 4 tables not occupied), we ordered our drinks, which you pay for at the bar separately (as you do for the food, but this only applies if eating outside), which were brought out by the very friendly and polite barman, it is worth mentioning that all the staff were polite, willing and genuinely friendly and happy to go the extra mile,
We ordered our food at the bar, olives and bread to nibble on, Cajun Chicken ceasar and baked Camembert to start, followed by a burger and 2 main Cajun Chicken salads. The salmon was moist and slightly piquant, the Free range poached egg was a triumph, perfectly cooked oozing yellowy delight, with just the right amount of croutons, sauce, Romaine and Parmassan to accompany. There was a slight misunderstanding, so the bread and olives arrived at the same time as the starters but did not detract from a wonderful evening, and both were delicious.
The salads were enjoyed by the others, the burger was just a burger, a solid protein patty, the thing is when you cook something to death you kill all the flavour, but due to a minority of cretinous chefs who cant do their jobs properly that is what the rest have to do, such a shame. The fries were lovely and were enjoyed by all, golden brown with a wonderfully crunchy outer.
My daughter had the chocolate brownie with orange chocolate ice cream, and I had an expresso.
A very fitting meal for a milestone occasion and one that will be remembered for a long time, leaving all of us with fond memories until we are able to visit again.
