Caught 6 between the 3 of us. 5 rainbow trout and biggest was the wild brown trout. All of which tasted epic as well.

I would recommend ledger fishing. Weight, 2.5 foot leader and some powerbait. Fpund the orange and red to work best

High Dam is a great but very basic trout fishery just outside of Eaglesham (ten minutes from the town by foot going west or two minutes by car)

It simply is a fishing hole that is well stocked with a good variety of trout variants (I've caught both rainbow and blue trout here). Usually very quiet and serene.

Again, this is literally a fishing hole. Don't expect facilities other than a bait shop. I can't recommend it enough for your basic city fisherman who doesn't have the time to drive out to Islay or Skye for course casting but if you want a place to look cool and have ten different types of net, go elsewhere.

My husband and his friend had a terrible time at this fishery today, caught 2 tiny fish that they returned to the water but nothing else definitely won't be back.
Even 1 star is being generous.

Great fishery, friendly helpful owners . I have been fishing here on and off for about 10 years and always get a friendly welcome. Great stock of fish and have never been disappointed. ????????????????????????

A Great wee water. the woman who runs it could not be anymore helpful some really nice fish been going for a few year and always caught fish

This dam is for real fishing not casting a fly into a hole full of hungry trout you need to hunt them out on the high dam and when you hit them watch out terrific full finned fighting fish great sport love the place
