EDITED FOLLOWING SECOND EXPERIENCE:

Tonight, we were invited back to Exciting Escapes for a make up game after our first experience did not go so well. This time, we had the pleasure of playing their newest game, Silence Is A Virtue. What an awesome evening! The game was a joy to play with some interesting specifics to make the experience more challenging and to make us work in different ways than we would normally do. It was a great game with lots of cerebral puzzles as well as a couple of fun more physical ones too. We came out of it absolutely buzzing and, three hours later, I'm still riding high on the thrill of it.

I have now deleted my original review of the first room we played because the details are no longer relevant. Improvements have now been made to where we felt it fell short before. This is great as we loved the concept of the room and enjoyed much of the game anyway.

I would also just like to say how impressed we all were with the way that the team at Exciting Escapes Croydon dealt with the issues we had on our our first visit. They took our original comments on board, made changes, have been friendly and communicative throughout and invited us back for tonight's make up game, which has turned the whole thing around for us, so thank you very much to the team! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend your rooms now!

Just escaped from the voices we hear change the record. We had an absolute blast. The rooms are well thought out and enjoyably challenging. Our host, Yas, was fun and friendly and gave us just enough hints to help without making it too easy.
Looking forward to the new room opening in the summer

My friends and I have done a lot of escape rooms and this has got to be the worst one. We picked it because of the 90s vibe and it was 5 star difficulty. The only good thing about the room was the decor, it was pretty cool. Most of the problem solving required too many leaps that you couldn’t infer from the clues. It’s hard to explain exactly what I mean but I think good escape rooms shouldn’t require you to guess much, and they shouldn’t have long pieces of paper over explaining what you have to do - that infers that the clue hasn’t been thought out that well. We had at least 3 issues while in the room - eg a phone not working, one of the clues had a lock on it that was already unlocked when we got in. The phone thing wasn’t solved very quickly, it was frustrating because we were explaining to them that we were doing it right but it just wasn’t working and they didn’t seem to understand that it was the phone’s fault rather than us! The whole room was just very frustrating and the last clue in particular was so annoyingly not good! The person who welcomed us was also very not in the mood which is not the end of the world but i think people who like escape rooms hosting makes an escape room so much better! I see lots of good reviews, maybe the other rooms are better or it’s better for people who haven’t done escape rooms before, but honestly this was such a disappointing trip!!

Goodness me!!! My team and I were there and it was challenging to solve the problems. My favourite was tracking the combination numbers. I listened My team's secret codes and I did it, 3 things. I am very proud of myself! Woohoo! You would love it all!

Me and the mandem had an absolutely wonderful time here. Definitely the best escape room i’ve ever been to! Loved the puzzles and that leng guy Ali provided great service. Would recommend to all ????

We had a fabulous time celebrating my sister’s birthday at Exciting Escapes Croydon, on Sunday. Our Games Master was Alfie - he was a delight; fun and so informative. We did the room in record time - 35 mins 25 seconds ( having all expected to be useless. We will definitely be back for more. Thanks Alfie!
