A great marina with tidy facilities with access through a lock to Cardiff Bay or the Bristol Channel. Diesel and gas available. Rigger and marine engineering workshop do an excellent job. Quality café and a nice restaurant overlooking the marina.

South Wales version of the Mediterranean. It makes me feel like I'm on holiday when walking down to the marina on a sunny day.

Oh it's beautiful to watch... Full of water... And there is a path to walk near the shore.. it's an amazing experience. When we went it was a little cloudy and windy. You have plenty of parking so if you're driving there is no need to worry.

Lovely place to spend a day. Took a ride on the big wheel, had a drink at an outdoor bar and watched the world go by then had a 45 minute cruise around the bay. Perfect????

Love coming here for a walk or to pop into a number of places for a bite to eat or a coffee. The Deck restaurant is comfortable and has super views with great service and good food. Try the galley cafe for amazing fresh food just a little closer to the barage tho I think it has now been renamed , or visit the custom House for a little glamour .it's a lovely place for a stroll whatever your mood.

Great day out walking along the barrage from the Penarth end to Cardiff Bay. Superb views across the Bristol Channel to Weston super mare and up the river you can see the two bridges spanning the river Severn on a clear day. Lots of things to see and do.
The engineering of the barrage is impressive, work commenced in 1994 was completed in 1999 with three locks allowing vessels access from the Severn estuary into Cardiff Bay. There are also five sluice gates that control the freshwater in the bay and out into the Severn with a fish pass to allow salmon and sea trout to return to the rivers Taff and Ely to spawn.

Just somewhere different to walk the dog, but really enjoyed it and doggo was super excited for somewhere new, luckily we went when the tide was out so we had the pebble beach to our selves, clean and tidy walk and even seen the barrage being open due to fishing trips returning

Definitely worth a visit, nice walk to see how the other half live..
