It is basically an industrial area so people would like to go out maybe that's why it is a little down

Not been here for years. All beautiful kept gardens. Plenty of walking to be done around the estate. Lots of seats about for people to sit on & if you're not very mobile you can hire a motor scooter. There's some gorgeous views from the tops through the woodland walks. The abbeys ruins are very well in tact. Continue on through to Studley Royal Deer Park. We managed to see some. St Mary's Church is worth visiting too. It opens at 1pm.The water gardens are lovely too. There's plenty of picnic areas & toilets. By the visitor centre there is a restaurant. There's a cafe too in the grounds. We were lucky enough to visit with a free National Trust Pass????????

Really enjoyed our visit here. The ruins are terrific but the addition of the beautiful gardens made for a wonderful afternoon even if some of it was in the rain.

Lovely place to visit on a dry and sunny day. So peaceful to walk around this valley. The Abbey is fascinating and there is a good small exhibition which outlines how it would have operated.

A fabulous visit, easy parking, short walk to visitor centre. Excellent facilities; the cafe was superb with lots of food choices, the gift shop was well stocked. The abbey itself was an easy walk from the entrance and was amazing, much more impressive than photos can do justice. A great day out for all ages.

Initially thought to be a bit pricey for entry. However, you can easily spend several hours at the Abbey and the surrounding area. The size is immense. The ruins are spectacular. Staff are welcoming. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the Dales.

Very friendly staff, well laid out route for wheelchair accessible areas. And the upkeep and beauty of the site is absolutely amazing. Kids enjoyed the scenery.

Nice place to visit. Went mid week during half term and was quite busy. No real issues parking was more than adequate, and the price in to abbey and gardens was £18 per person. About 10 minutes outside of Ripon.
Gardens are really nice.
Lots of walking required, and Abbey is in a valley, so walking up and down to it might be challenging to some people. National Trust property so gift aid donation available if you feel you would like to add another £1.50 to entrance price.
Spent approx 3 hrs here. Nice coffee shop at bottom of water gardens. Got quite busy mid afternoon.

Awesome and majestic, yet peaceful. The site takes you back in time. It's easy to imagine the Monks walking quietly amongst the buildings of the Abbey and surrounding structures. Beautifully maintained by the National Trust, it really was a joy to visit again. Very highly recommended.
