The impressive 70 foot tall monument (also called the Duke of Sutherland Monument) that stands on top of the Lileshall hillside, with it's beautiful views of the surrounding countryside is hard to believe that it's only 443 feet above sea level, because you can see for miles and free to visit, which this day and age is always good.
A really pleasant walk to get to the monument, enjoying the fresh air while taking in the views and if you visit on a weekend, you should easily be able to park up by a nearby primary school without any inconvenience to the running of the school and without walking for miles and miles.
Well worth a visit, if only for a bit of peace and some lovely scenery.

Great for a views, you can see the Wrekin from there, not much walking to the monument. Parking was tricky as mostly it says resident only and some roads were dedicated to resident only. Not worth visiting again.

Park at Lilleshall Primary school for 20 - 40 minute circular walk up the monument and back down the other side . Views over the flat Shropshire countryside with The Wrekin clearly visible in the background .

Absolutely beautiful panoramic views from the plinth of the monument, you can see for miles and miles.

Very tight road leading up to the monument, a very small dead end turning/car park at end, not much room and take your walking shoes, steep ish climb to top and can be muddy, ok for most people I'd of thought.

Well worth a visit on a nice sunny day for the extensive views, and take your camera ????????

Nice walk up to the monument. Great views of the surrounding towns also. Very quiet, perfect for a peaceful stroll.

A very short walk up to the top if you drive up the narrow little road to the base of the hill proper.
Extremely limited space to park here so I would recommend parking (respectfully) somewhere in the village and walking up - the extra distance will make it more of a walk.
The view from the top is surprisingly good - you can see for a fair distance and there's some steps on the base of the monument so you can walk around the base.
