Pre-booked for a specific location over 24h before required, told by switchboard to walk elsewhere to avoid pedestrianised area. When we found the car, the driver spedaway from us after saying he'd marked us as a no-show despite being in a traffic jam on the street we'd been told to go to and had nobody else in the car. I won't bother with them again despite 4 years calling them as 1st choice.

The driver is VERY RUDE, he doesn't know how to treat a woman! He was talking on his cell phone during the trip and does not accept payment on the card. He treated me badly because I only had a card to pay. I asked him to wait for me to go home and get the money. The trip was £3.70 and he spoke to me like I was going to steal him those £3????? I asked if he had an british account for me to make the transfer and he said no. All that headache because of £3. THREE POUNDS!!! I am used to Uber and other taxis and have never received such treatment.

Never again! Worst taxi experience.
Booked a taxi for Sunday morning 6am throught the app, well in advance. (Going to the airport)Got the confirmation.
Got an email at 5:50 am on Sunday morning that the booking is cancelled.No explanation , nothing.
Can you imagine how frustrating was that situation?
You can not just cancel something if it was booked, or get another driver or something.....It's good that at least we haven't paid anything in advance.

If I could give zero stars I would. All of this is my opinion based on my experience. Not all the staff and drivers are bad. There have been some who have been very professional but recently on two occasions this month the driver lied to the operator and said they had been and gone when they didn't even arrive at the destination and I was waiting outside so I had to rebook with the operator and wait even longer. I'm not someone who likes to complain at all but since I had to pay full price for this terrible service, I think I should give my honest opinion. Some drivers are great to talk to but some are extremely rude and I'm not a fan of those who give their unsolicited and ignorant opinions on politics. These types of conversations are not pleasant for a customer to be hearing especially in the morning. The estimated time to wait is never correct; I've been told on the automated system multiple times the taxi will be 3 or 2 minutes which usually means a 20 to 30 minute wait in reality. I've been late to work twice with this service despite ordering the taxi super early. I've sometimes ordered hours before for a specific time and still wasn't prioritised and the taxis were late. A disappointing service especially for people with health issues who have to rely on taxis. Based on my negative experience I wouldn't recommend it at all and hope I can save some people from wasting their time, getting stressed and being inconvenienced. To Alpha Taxis think about how you can improve your service for your customers; at the end of the day people spending their hard earned money don't deserve a bad service. I personally won't be ordering again.

Nice taxi driver seen me struggling with a very heavy piece of machinery. While waiting for a fair opposite my house he came over and help me with it , lifting into the back of my van. Don't normally use taxi services but because of this will definitely ring alpha first time I need one. Thanks again driver

Who knew! If you book by phone you must pay cash, the drivers aren't allowed contactless. Driving around in the rain looking for an ATM pushes the fare up so you, the customer, end up funding the owner's poor business model. You can pay by app but only if you download and book via the app first. They could tell you this when you call to book but they don't! Disappointing controller, great (sympathetic) driver, very clean car.

Absolutely unacceptable. I called up at 5.30AM for a taxi was told it would be 5-10 minutes. Never showed up, called 45 minutes later and it had been cancelled. Rebooked and waited another 45 minutes, never showed up so gave up and walked home. I'm a young girl and I waited by myself in the cold. When I told the operator this she told me that "I shouldn't be out at that time then". Absolutely disgusting. Luckily I made it home safe but I hope this company goes under or seriously changes because it will save a lot of people a horrible experience.

Terrible service. Taxi said 20 mins both times then on the second visit picked someone else up and had to wait another 20 mins for a new one. Ended up getting an Uber which took 5 mins!
