This is a nice, large, free carpark, which is open everyday from about 5:30, till 17:00 in winter and till 21:00 in summer.
It’s located right in the middle of the downs and the peace here is surreal. This carpark gets very crowded over weekends, but during the week it’s a lot better. You can just park your car in front of the downs and enjoy nature, the crows, the dogs and silence, provided the occasional inconsiderate doesn’t keeps his engine running, or the radio too loud!
You will be able to relax here, with no traffic wardens to speak of. The only problem are groups of young fellas, who show up at around 16:00 onwards and who come here to do handbrake turns, drifting and to drive as if they were on a rally. It is very dangerous and extremely annoying. I have seen police here only on one occasion, so they are definitely not doing enough. This is a regular occurrence that you can spot pretty much every day during the summer. I am surprised that the Jockey Club (the owner of the racecourse and the downs) doesn’t do anything about it. They are so keen to show that they care so much about this place, but when it comes to it, like in this case, they do absolutely nothing!

Fantastic views, especially for watching planes coming into Heathrow, people watching and just passing time. Dogs off leads only after 12 noon and horses always have priority . Confession, my Grandad's ashes were scattered on the 5th furlong, so it will always be a very special place for me. He attended every derby that ran from childhood in the 1920s until 2005

3star for the state of the car park surface, beware potholes galore!!!! Am sure the revenue from the Derby could afford Epsom Council to resurface it. The views and the Down's on the other hand though are 1st class. I grew up not far from the Down's and spent alot of my childhood up here. The other car parks are not much better. One of them has a small refreshments cafe though

My evening walk,takes me round the back of Langley vale,different side to the downs,lovely wooded walks,views.

Not sure how you are supposed to rate a car park but its a large gravel CP does the job but with no facilities, no lighting and full of pot holes. In winter its grim.
The Race Course obviously don't have the funds to tip some gravel.

It's a car park. Not much more to say really. Be sure to check closing time if you arrive late as they close the gates.

Offers great views but is not tarmacked and has potholes and puddles galore. Good for walking dogs and hiking or a casual walk but not so good on your tyres and suspension!
