It's always so hard to park and find a space, needs to be marked out better to show the part which is private parking

Very difficult to find if you don't know your way round (you actually access via George Street which is easily missed) and spaces not the largest but it's a good location and very competitively priced compared with everywhere else locally. App makes it easy to pay and extend length of stay remotely.

Re-used space behind shops means access is narrow as are the spaces. Handy for walking into city centre though (3 mins), and has an electric vehicle fast charger space too.

Plenty of parking just off Moulsham Street behind the United Brethren, three ways to pay, at the machine of which I believe there are four, by text on your mobile or possibly the most convenient by the MiPermit App, I put that at the top for one reason, if you have paid for two hours say and you are running late you can top it on the App and avoid a parking fine, much easier than having to walk back to put a new ticket on.

Sunday morning, 9am, and the car park's deserted. Had my pick of the parking spots. Chose a lovely little rectangle of tarmac close to the payment machine. Paid for 3 hours' parking but came back 3 hours and 10 minutes later. 10 minutes free parking. Once again, I stuck it to the man.

I arrived at 4.30pm for an evening out, and was charged the full £6.50, the same as someone who arrived at 6am would pay. Apparently you can only pay £1 after 6pm if you arrive after 6pm. As far as I'm concerned, if the charge is £1 after 6pm then it's £1, regardless of what time you arrive. I should have been charged for my 1.5 hours before 6pm, and then an extra £1. It's outrageous to charge the full amount so late in the day. I'm really disappointed at Chelmsford City Council's greedy stance on car parking charges.

Very good car park but it does get very full very quickly. A whole day is only £5.00 or £5.20 when you pay online I believe. If you arrive before 9am on a week day you should get a space. If not they usually free up after 11am.

Very tight spaces, designed when cars were a lot smaller! It is also very busy a less you get there early morning....but it is cheap (guess that's why it's so busy!) So providing you are good at parking in small spaces....this is one to consider
