Fantastic small local museum, with crazily enthusiastic volunteer staff. Even if you know little or care about Rayleigh you will find the knowledge and passion intoxicating. Well worth a visit or too...

A small, free museum with so much character and very friendly and knowledgeable staff! :) They have a really great selection of items showcasing Rayleigh's history and have changing exhibitions. You can tell a lot of work and love has gone into everything!

Excellent, cannot recommend a visit highly enough. Full of history with a special exhibition that changes every month. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Suitable for all ages.

I have frequent contact with Mike at the museum for my research. It’s a lovely little museum, well laid out and all staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Displays are changed from time to time, being rotated due to space but if you want to see something specific and it’s not there, they will do their best to get it back in for another time. It’s adult and child friendly too with lots of little fun learning events.
It’s not open currently due to lockdown but I am sure they are all champing at the bit to get it back on track.

Small, free local museum. A couple of knowledgeable staff on hand for any questions. Worth a visit if you live locally and want to know about the history of your town.

Always worth a visit. Friendly staff are able to help you if you need it. They are very knowledgeable, the artifacts and the documentation are vast for such a small space. You could spend ages there if you wished to do so. I have been multiple times now and I always learn something different every time I go.

Quaint little museum with lots to see and do. The volunteers are enthusiastic and very welcoming. Entry to the museum is free and there are activities for children of all ages. A lovely little curiosity and great way to spend a bit of time

A lovely little local museum concentrating on artefacts from in and around Rayleigh. They have far more stuff than can be displayed and so the exhibitions are changed regularly. Free entry.
