It is one of the bridges through which the trains enter into Newcastle city. Situated in the Newcastle river, as per wikipedia, it is the last of the great railway bridges in England. It was inaugurated by King Edward VII in 1906. It is the main railway bridge with which the trans from London and other goods trains enter Newcastle city.

An impressive bridge that shows an incredible feat of architecture and design. A pleasant site to appreciate when walking along the riverfront.

Its cool that the bridges are so close together and all look different, but at the end of the day they are just bridges. I expected more from the so-called "famous" bridges across the Tyne. The Redheugh Bridge in particular is very ugly and ruins the better looking bridges like the King Edward VII bridge.

The King Edward VII bridge has to be the most solid of all the Tyne bridges. Opened by King Edward VII, son of Queen Victoria it is now a Grade II listed structure but still very necessary as it is our main railway bridge up here just as Queen Elizabeth II or blue bridge is for the Metro system.

What can I say about this bridge, been over it plenty of times, it's very sturdy, can hold a large amount of weight and you feel completely safe going over.
