Good iftar tent and good food

I came into this place for one pint and finished up having 5 instead. Meeting up with a couple from Dundee and trying to decipher their accent, which became harder and harder as the night grew longer. Nice venue with a few ales on tap.

Only had a couple of beers pub looks ok didn't eat here.The reception from the barman was non existent he looked as though the world was about to end a smile and a hello would be nice you are in the hospitality trade!

In a great location, this inn does nothing to encourage people to stay - our bedroom was dirty, food was poorly prepared, and tables in the restaurant had sticky grease impregnated surfaces. People working there were pleasant. Expensive accommodation for what it was.

Pretty price accomodation for not so great room. Stayed in room 2. Shower drains water very slowly. Tons of insects on the water front and not much air con. I would suggest installing a net so guess can keep the window open.

After reading reviews about the tired and 'rustic' decor as the food was highly praised we thought we'd go.

We had the fish and chips and chicken strips, both came with a huge amount of skinny fries. Food was OK, fish a bit watery, but the damp pealing walls and sticky tables were a bit too rustic.

Only two guys working it seemed, one cooking and serving dishes the other at the bar and cleaning, seemed super short staffed for a busy Friday night. Friendly enough.

Due to lack of choice in the area will probably take you in, as it did with us. We've been in some more isolated pubs further up north that felt better ran and maintained.
