What a fabulous place! It's free! (You just pay for parking, and there's a fee for the Manor if you wish to go inside) There's a couple of children's play areas which are great, a woodland sculpture trail and walk, bee keeping centre, walled garden and lots of space for children to just run around! It's a lovely place for a picnic. It has a lovely little cafe too (which has reasonable prices). My 3 year old son and I will definitely be visiting again soon! ????

There's a lot to explore at Scolton Manor, not just the Victorian manor house and its period displays. There's a lovely walled garden, the sculpture trail is a wonderful way to learn about traditional Welsh stories, whether you are young or old, and the beekeeping centre has live video feeds into the bee hives. The station farm shop sells some delightful handmade local products, and with 60 acres of parkland to explore, it's a great day out.

Really enjoyed an afternoon here with our pet dog. Nice walks through the woodland. Spacious field to throw a ball around. Lots of play areas for kids to enjoy. Very family friendly with a great Rhododendron den to explore! (See photos) Lots of space for kids and pet dogs to run off their energy! Car park costs £3.50 to park for 2 hours.

Went with family for a picnic and walk in the magnificent Manor grounds on Sunday.

Plenty to do and see for young and old alike.

Arriving just after midday, we parked up and purchased an annual season ticket for £25 (soon going up to £35) in the shop/cafe. Daily parking is from £3.50.

Just across from the shop is 'Margaret' the old train engine which can be explored in a designated station area next to a children's wooden play train and the bike hire (for those who wish to ride along the bike trails).

We headed past a larger play area with seating near the clean and tidy toilet block out along a pedestrian trail to a picnic area near the play Pirate Ship anchored on the edge of a big field where some sheep are kept in a pen.

After our picnic we headed further along the quite muddy trail in the woods(to the delight of our youngest member!!) passing through a bird hide by the lake and also a (seemingly disused?) railway line on the estate boundary, catching several delightful glimpses of a local buzzard circling above in the bright afternoon sky.

We returned to the shop/ cafe via the musical area where large metal tubular bells hang ready to ring out a tune when hit by the drumsticks placed there.

After a drink and ice-cream, we returned to our cars for the journey home boosted by the most enjoyable time we had.

Definitely worth more than one visit as you can by arrangement also see the Manor House itself, theToy Museum and the delightful walled garden. Recommend.

Such a beautiful place to visit for the day and plenty of space for the children to run around. We visited the cafe for a bite to eat found it a little expensive but it was very tasty. They could do with opening more toilets ???? to prevent queuing. Found all the staff very helpful and the head gardener didn't mind answering my questions I had. So all in all I can't wait to visit again

We love this place it's free to visit...you only pay to enter the Captains House.
Watch the entertaining, educational videos @the apiary, and if your there at the appropriate time of year ( see the honey being extracted from the honey frames holding the honeycomb that the bees have produced!
Great walking through the woods there are educational informative stories spaced out along the trail...an adventure for adults and the kids!
And a small café serving up a wonderful dish of welsh Cawl (soup) or beverage of your choice.
Fantastic day out!

Beautiful woodland walks with many hidden surprises to keep the kids busy. Lots of play areas and dog friendly. Car park has disabled parking available.

Nice walk with scolton being dog friendly. A few big & small play parks dotted around with a tea room at the Manor and a cafe down the bottom end. Car park can be a struggle at peak times.
