We pre-booked and paid for a Europcar before our trip and arrived at Glasgow Airport where we picked it up. However, it was difficult to understand what took so long in the queues there. When it came to our turn we understood what was going on. First of all the person serving us put two different sets of car keys down on the counter saying: "I have a new Jaguar with sat nav for you for only x dollars.". We said, no thank you we will stick with the car we booked. Next we were offered a series of upgrades: insurance; cover for minor damage, and so on. In short, we were being hustled. Why similar offers could not be made when first we made a booking I do not understand unless each operator behind the counter has a stake in selling the extras.
As it happens we were very happy with the car we were given and we had no problems at all. However, when you hand a new Mercedes to a couple in their 70s without a manual in the glove box; how on earth are they supposed to drive out onto a busy Freeway and know how to use all of the levers on the steering column without first spending time looking in the manual? This was a very poor effort.
We returned the car intact and were met by very friendly staff who made the task so much easier and certainly were not able to hustle us for further payments.
We might try another company next time.

Seemingly nice and helpful staff... i had a "prepaid" contract via wizzair's booking system. The guy at the desk didn't leave me alone until he managed to speak me into an upgrade (so the price raised like 20%). He said by this upgrade i'll get a car with parking sensors and navigation system and that it would be slightly bigger and more comfy then the originally booked car. I said okay then we picked up the car and there was no parking sensor nor any navigation system. I didn't actually care so i didn't go back to the reception but still... not to mention the final overcharge which was much higher than expected...

Staff seemed friendly and helpful but car hire worked out very expensive as I was told I had to add the "optional" extras as a walk in customer with no booking - seemed very dodgy but I had no choice but to go with it as the other car hire places were closed.

Worst. Renting out damaged cars with no solution for a replacement, I was basically left stranded.

Sehr enttäuschende Station, enttäuschende Mitarbeiter und dann werden einem noch Zusatzkosten heimlich aufgedrückt, diese man erst mit der Kreditkartenabrechnung mitbekommt. Finger weg von der Station und dem Anbieter!
