Disappointing!
We booked this as a last minute week away with our 15 month old as from the website it seemed to have the perfect amount of facilities for a baby his age. Swimming, a splash pool and soft play. Soft play specifically was the decision maker as he really needs somewhere to run around. We were disappointed to see that soft play was closed for maintenance when we arrived . Even more disappointing was that we asked 4 different people when it would be open and what the issue was and got a different answer each time. At first we were told they were waiting for a part to come in so it can be fixed, then that the swimming pool leaked and there was sewage in the soft play that needed to be deep cleaned?! The soft play is not attached to the swimming pool, in fact it is in the arcade where all of the electrical arcade machines were seemingly unaffected, what a miracle! No smell of sewage either! Two other people we asked just said they didn’t know so the swimming pool leaking couldn’t have been big news on site. We also found out it had been closed for two weeks already so it would have been nice to have been informed of this before hand or they should at least take it off the website as a facility for the time being.

The opening times for the pool are not advertised. We came twice to be told they were closing for activities at 4.30pm. The splash park seemed impossible to book or know if it was open. Door was always closed with a sign saying pool closed and no availability to book online all week so another thing our son couldn’t do.

Messy play was held in the arena, a dark room with no natural light, just big bright spotlights shining in his eyes so he wasn’t a fan of that either, seemed odd to not hold it in the craft room. Craft room was also locked all week which was a shame as we could see some age appropriate toys inside, some smaller soft play items and a tunnel etc.

We also had an issue with the cot that we had booked and paid for. Firstly that it wasn’t there when we checked in, had to chase that.
Also, when booking a cot they do tell you that a mattress and bedding isn’t included (I personally think that makes it pointless) but arranged our own based on the measurements on their website. When the cot finally arrived, it was much much smaller and our mattress didn’t fit! So the options were for our son to sleep on a piece of cardboard they call a mattress that came with the cot or inevitably end up in bed with us. Could have saved room in our car had they had the correct measurements when booking. As small as the cot was, it still didn’t fit in the bedroom. We had to play Tetris with the existing furniture to try and fit the cot somewhere safe and suitable.

All in all, not worth the time, effort or money. Wouldn’t come again.

In fact, in the end we left a day early, with nothing for our son to do and not a decent bed for him to sleep in it just wasn’t worth staying and sitting around the apartment.

To end on a positive the staff in the reed cutters restaurant were lovely. Very warm and welcoming and lovely to our son. They are the only reason I am not giving one star!

Good location and walking distance to Great Yarmouth (about 30 mins to sea front)
On site services are really good and plenty for the kids to do. The drinks in the pub are way overpriced but the shop prices are reasonable for on site.

You do need to be aware that this is a VERY busy, noisy site. It may be quieter in other areas but we were placed right outside the club house on the main road in. (One of the Sparrow areas) We asked to be moved after the first night as the music was so loud and thumping from the club house until 1 am (and they keep the exit doors to the clubhouse open which didn’t help!) and on top of that the statics we were in are also situated alongside the main dual carriageway (fence between) which is also very noisy throughout the night. We asked to be moved after the first night as we couldn’t sleep but unfortunately there were no other available vans for a family of 7. In the end we just bought earplugs which helped a bit but our 3 and 6 year old struggled to get to sleep with the late night performers singing, club music thumping until 1am and to top it off the bar staff dragging the industrial bottle bins across the road after closing.

The vans themselves are well kept but there isn’t a lot of outside space on any of the vans for children to play which was disappointing although there is a large field to take them to to run around.

I probably wouldn’t return to the site again based on how loud it was and the limited space outside the vans but I can’t fault the facilities. I think when booking people just need to be made more aware of the areas you are booking and make it easier to request a van for people that want to be further away from the clubhouse.

Liked: This is the second time we have visited as a family first in a static caravan last year we loved it so much we decided to return again this year in our own touring caravan. The entertainment team were brilliant our little one loved them for both evening and daytime activities and made the holiday for the whole family (Chloe,Nicole, liv & cam)
All the redcutters restaurant staff and take away shacks were very helpful and arcade team were lovely over all
The food was amazing my partner always gets the Parkdean signature burger at the restaurant and can’t fault it! Best burger he’s every had apparently! Easy order to thee table via the app.The swimming pools all clean and heated

Disliked: Shame the splash park area was so cold but still little one loved it
The play area was abit big for our little one perhaps invest in a smaller add on for under 5s

Liked: I liked how spacious the shower areas were. I liked the amount of water points & electric hook up points there were. There were loads of bins available! Pitch was a very good size. The grass was cut short too. There is alot to do on the site, with evening entertainment, games room, a laundrette. There is a massive outdoor area for kids to play. Great location, close to Asda and other local shops! Outdoor splash zone. We didn't manage to get it all done over the weekend, but will definitely be returning!

Disliked: The showers needed cleaning regularly and it wasn't. There was left over rubbish from others left under the hedges on our pitch. Seagulls were a nightmare!

We stayed in the Glamping mega pods. We got such an amazing last minute deal for 3 nights for 4 people. Honestly great value for money.
Only downfall was the pods weren’t entirely clean but I did come prepared accepting this for the price we paid. So would advise to bring some cleaning materials with you. (Also handy for your stay too!)
The pod was great. It came with kettle toaster fridge and microwave. And a toilet. Shower was in a separate building but it very clean! However they should add hairdryers.
Entertainment was good for kids
All the food places were really good and great value for money.
But I must say the service and friendliness of the staff was second to none!! The staff are who make the place great, enjoyable and memorable

Liked: It is close to the beach

Disliked: Arrival time confusion, clicked online for a 12 o'clock check in, got told by staff I had to wait until 12.30 then at 12.30 to come back after 2pm and then an email stating 4pm.
No swimming, due to the arrival mess up we couldn't go swimming on the first day bit the pool staff said to come in the morning at 9am.
We arrived before 9am and waited until 9.30am when we were told the pool supervisor had not shown up and there were no spare keys to the pool.

I have been to Vauxhall a few times and normally it's a pretty good experience but there seems to be staffing or training issues atm resulting in frustrating customer service

We have spent a relaxing break in a new caravan it's very clean and well equipped. The mattress is very comfortable. The whole site is clean and well laid out. The entertainment has been fun and we've enjoyed the swimming pool. Would recommend.
